Known only by his stage name, a gull gives a solo performance of Purple Rain on the Cancún coast. Besides Prince, demonstrating note-a-bill range, the feathered frontman also covered work by Phish, Seal, the Eagles and Counting Crows. During his last song, however, he was roped off stage ... and that was a rap :)

Taken yesterday at RSPB Greylake in Somerset, UK.
It was moving at over 100mph here, and within seconds had caught and killed a Teal in mid-air!

Clearly seen is the tomial tooth, used to dispatch their victims, by severing the spinal cord. Also note the cones in their nostrils used to diffuse the air velocity in high speed stoops.

An 18thC guide stoop (guide post) on East Moor near Chesterfield. The spelling of the names of the towns and villages marked on it was usually left to the person who carved it.

Stoop; (noun) the descent of a bird especially on its prey. Ospey diving in for breakfast, this time it was unsuccessful.
Marchers on the Common only a couple of blocks away . . . and this man sits reading the paper on his stoop.
A guide stoop in a remote location on Big Moor. This is only the broken-off top portion of the stone.
Some of the markings are a little unclear but read:

The peregrine falcon in a stoop is known to reach speed of up to 200 miles per hour. Watching and trying to get this type of image can be humbling. The mist of Niagara Falls was thick this weekend and the temperature was in the high 20's Celsius range.
This image is of the male falcon "Duncan" going into a stoop as he crossed a brilliant rainbow created by the mist of Niagara Falls.
