Made from a plank of very cheap wood. Next time I will find a flat piece.
This stool looks different from various angles. My intention was to use a "normal" object and turn it into something diverse/ unusual. 5/8/2011
15th C birthing stool in camphor laurel, not yet oiled or waxed. This curved back gave me no end of hassles. I have no good way of shaping the inside of a curve, other than rasps, files and sand paper. It was a pain.

I'm a design student and I made three copies of this stool i came up with, kinda simple and catchy!
They are handmade out of 100% swedish birch, harvested nearby. It took me about 40 hours to make three of them!
