The building of the Bavarian State Chancellery.
The central part is a remnant of the former Bayerische Armeemuseum (Bavarian Army Museum), which was destroyed in World War II. The side wings of the museum were demolished after the war, the central part of the building stood in ruins for decades and was restored only in 1982.
In 1993 the new side wings were completed - after years long disputes about the design.

As I stood and watched the mists

wondered what view was more
beautiful that this.

I drive by this river each morning. No matter the season, its beauty beckons me to stop and capture that day’s memory. You may recognize this river in one of my other images at a different time of the year.
The beautiful texture I used on this image is by Evelyn Flint entitled “Old Brown Paper”.

The Pitstone Windmill as dusk falls with the mysterious and ancient Ivinghoe Beacon. This is where the historic Ridgeway Path, starts its journey.
The windmill has stood here since 1627 and it closed in 1894 after it was badly damaged in a storm. It was restored by a group of enthusiast`s and is now full operational and open to the public.
The Ridgeway path follows the high ground across the Chilterns for 87miles and ends at Avebury [ famous for its standing stones ] in Wiltshire. The path has been in use since the Neolithic period by early man as it was safer to travel across the hills than down in the valleys because of the impenetrable forests and danger of attack by wild animals. It has been used from medieval times right up to the 50s by travelling tradesmen [ journeymen ] and travelling sales men [peddlers] carrying their goods to the various markets in the many villages that it passes through. Its a haven for wildlife including butterflies as well as the flowers that grow on the rich chalk grassland and it was originally part of a deep lagoon off the coast of west Africa before the tutonic plates shifted millions of years ago.
There are many megalithic features on the Ridgeway including Bronze age Long Barrows { Graves } Iron age Hill Forts and Standing Stones.
An amazing place, I have walked sections of it. I hope to walk it in its entirety next year as long as my legs, and me can hold out that long!!!
Do hope you will like my pic and give us a quick Fave if you do! Its what your index fingers for....... mostly!!!!
Have a good week ahead!

The lime green flower of a Euphorbia Robbiae. It can be a skin irritant. Recently whilst trying to photograph some crocus next to this I leaned on my fist low to the ground and mmust have put it on a broken small euphorbia stem. Shortly afterwards my hand began to burn like ant bites all down my fingers and a welt formed across my knuckles. It took a while to realise what had caused it because Magoo doesn't see where he puts his hands. Better that than a fox plop I suppose...Squich! Oh no!! :^)
(I once put my hand in someone's pudding in a restaurant! LOL )
A little while ago I put up a photo of the Euphorbia bracts forming, you can now see above how the bracts have stood up and opened to the flowers. The photo is here...

Green Point Lighthouse located in Port de Grave. We randomly found it while out for a Sunday drive and I was more then pleased. It sits alone out there on the rugged coastline and stands tall on the barren landscape. She is simple in structure but beautiful to look at. One of these days I'll venture back here again. I just love this area and need more time explore!

We had another hawk using the front yard to catch a meal. This is my friend You who was smart enough to hide in the old apple tree. This is a favorite tree to hide in. She kept peeking out to see if it was safe. She looked at me as if to ask for help. I stood near her figuring the hawk wouldn't come close to her because of my presence. Unfortunately a dove was taken that afternoon. One must die so another can eat and live another day which is the way of nature. Still makes me sad.

I stood on my tiptoes and peeked in the window of the old Liberty school. Steps were provided in case the little one-room schoolhouse was closed, so I had a great view back in time. It looked as if the teacher had just told the students to grab their coats and go outside for a romp in the snow to burn off a little energy! If you look closely, you can see the photographer reflected in the glass covering the map on the opposite wall….
I stood in the yard watching this dragonfly go back and forth over and over and almost landing. I was lucky that he finally found a limb close to me and landed. I believe he is a red saddlebag dragonfly skimmer. Feel free to correct me. I loved how the light was shining on his wings!
The Parthenon in Athens is the most famous surviving building of Ancient Greece and one of the most famous buildings in the world.
The Parthenon has stood atop the Acropolis of Athens for nearly 2,500 years and was built to give thanks to Athena, the city's patron goddess, for the salvation of Athens and Greece in the Persian Wars. The building was officially called the Temple of Athena the Virgin.

We stood on the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island looking out. The clouds sat directly on the water along the rocky shoreline of another island across the bay.

In the 13th century, towns such as San Gimignano were often run by feuding noble families, whose towers would show off their economic power. The building process, involving digging the materials, carting them to the site and building the tower, was neither simple nor cheap. The towers were, and still are, owned by private families.
In San Gimignano today, only 14 towers remain of the 72 which stood in the 14th century. This still makes it the "city of beautiful towers" and guaranteed its UNESCO World Heritage Site recognition.
I've stood at the base of several waterfalls, and behind the Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls, and at the top of waterfalls, but never so far above waterfalls.

When I stood up this morning, there was a dense fog laying all over my hometown. Unfortunately it had cleared already, until I was ready to go and the real fog was gone. Only in the valleys, there was some mist left, the sun did bring to glow here and there.
So I was roaming around for almost two hours and tried to catch that special light. From light island to light island, deeper and deeper into the woods.
I was able to create two or three photographs with a pleasing composition and even if the results are not what I was hoping for, I again enjoyed the time in the nature very much. And this is, what it's all about in the end.

I was going back through my bug photos from last year, looking for a good one to add tonight since there's not much new happening out in nature right now here in the local area, when I came across this photo of a white-tailed deer fawn that I found out in the forest last spring while photographing insects. I'd forgotten that I even took the photo since I download all my bug photos into special files and wait until winter to look at them and then try to figure out what I found. I'm positive that I photographed this fawn that stood up at my feet with a macro lens
I stood out under the pines and looked down and there she was. Waiting for food and companionship like she did so many times before. Like she is doing in this photo. But then I woke and realized it was only a dream. I got dressed and went out to search just one more time. But she has not returned. I'll go out and search one more time, a thousand more times and call her name. It's what I do.
I stood at the end of the train to take this picture. :-)
The Taichung MRT (also called Taichung Mass Rail Transit or Taichung Metro) is a rapid transit system in Taichung, Taiwan. In addition to Taichung, it may serve Changhua and Nantou counties. Taichung Metro's first route, the Green Line, officially began operation on April 25, 2021, making it the 5th rapid transit system operating in Taiwan.
I stood at the trail to the Mount Hehuan, Northern Peak( 3422m, 11227ft), facing the Chilai Mount, Northern Peak( 3,607 m (11,834 ft), I think I should hike there someday though it is very tough. I'm not able to go there because I need more experiences. :-)

The Gepatschferner is the second largest glacier in Austria. After a very nice hike, we stood at the foot of this glacier, which extends to an altitude of around 3,500m. In a short moment, the sun managed to displace the fog a little.
Stood among the conifers, juggling position and exposure to ensure I didn't blow out parts of the tree I was shielding the lens behind, this was a tricky but satisfying shot. Sometimes when I shoot sun rays I am in awe and its easy to forget to take the shot :)
On Christmas Eve, I stood in the brick streets and looked up at the snow that had begun to fall. This year, it was a white Christmas. I wish you a happy Christmas too✨

A gnarled tree stood upon a field
and watched deer running over hedge
and ditch into the sunset
when suddenly a sapling
came stumbling through the soil.
Halting at the foot of the tree,
the young, bushy thing
gasped with no breath:
"Help! Please help! They cut down my friend!"
Upon hearing this dreadful news,
the gnarled tree threw his branches up
toward the sky and yelled: "Why?!
We must march to make them stop!
This carnage needs to end!"
With fear and anger in his trunk
he loosened his roots
and packed his leaves
and off they went over the fields.
And on their quest the two were joined
by other trees who followed them
along the track with clangor,
till, at dawn, they came upon
the woodsman at his work.
The tree stepped forth and cried out loud:
"Stop killing my kin!
We want to live!
Don't cut us down till we're no more!"
The woodsman looked up from his work
and eyed the tree from crown to root
before he shrugged his shoulders.
"Ain't my idea to fell you,"
he growled with axe in hand.
"The farmer says, you're in his way."
He tightened his grip
around the haft.
Down came the axe: chop-chop, chop-chop.

Tawny Owl taken early morning stood on this perch set against Bluebells on the Forrest floor.
Brown in colouration, with a rounded head and dark forward-facing eyes, the Tawny Owl is typically owl-like in its appearance. Three different colour forms occur across the European breeding range, with the chestnut brown form most commonly encountered within the UK. The facial disk is rather plain in colour and pattern and within this sit the dark eyes and horn-coloured bill.
The upperparts are rich chestnut brown, with areas of both lighter and darker tones that help to camouflage the bird when perched within its favoured woodland habitat. Males and females are similar in appearance but differ in size, though with a degree of overlap; females are the larger of the two sexes (Courtesy BTO).
Thanks for viewing my photos and for any favourites and comments, it’s much appreciated 👍
I stood on a California beach as the setting sun blazed across the Pacific, silhouetting the outlines of oil rig platforms against the fiery sky. It was a moment of stark contrast: breathtaking beauty juxtaposed with the industrial power sources that have shaped our modern world.

Once upon a time in a land called Fantasy
17 mountains stood so high.
The sea surrounded them and together they would be
The only thing that ever made u cry
U said the devil told u that another mountain would appear
Everytime somebody broke your heart
He said the sea would 1 day overflow with all your tears,
And love will always leave u lonely
But I say it's only mountains and the sea
Love will conquer if u just believe
It's only mountains and the sea
There's nothing greater, u and me

I stood in the rain yesterday evening for what seemed forever (probably was only about 30 minutes..ha ha) to see if I could get a shot of the little one. I got a few. Hopefully I can do better in the next few days.
This little male Anna's Hummingbird stood sentry over one of the feeders at Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, AZ. He aggressively chased off any other Hummingbirds that approached HIS feeder
Hummingbird feathers have no pigment. Instead, they're iridescent. As I understand it, there are tiny bubbles in the feathers that refract certain light. Green on the body and flaming magenta around their face. At some angles the face looks black, but if he turns a certain way it lights up a glowing magenta. You can see a hint of refracting magenta up by his eye.
This single Aspen stood out like a flame against the charcoal colored rocks.
Found while on my fishing trip in Wyoming I knew I could not pass it by, but in my travels to and fro fishing holes I did about 4-5 times before I had time to stop and take the image.
I stood by the small waterfall as the water tumbled over the edge. There were many Autumn leaves that had fallen off the surrounding trees, so I picked up a handful and placed them in the water and waited until they got caught up in the swirling pool beneath the fall.

Stood on top of Solomon's Tower on the fringe of Buxton looking out over the mist to the Harvest Sunrise.
I was half an hour late to get to Solomon's Tower due to a rude interruption to my departure plans and this was nothing like the shot I hoped to have, or could have had.
I'm not sure if this would be better a little lighter, so please let me have your feedback.
The cow stood still like it enjoyed being photographed. Or else it was daring me to get closer. Thanks to Zetong Li for part of the background image since I had to eliminate a goat that photobombed the portrait.
“I walk the streets where I regret, I stood along and watched myself fall apart and said the voices in my head slipped through the chain link of a broken heart.
