Some seriously good light at sunset at the Rocking Stones on Crow Stones Edge. I almost went to Kinder Scout but decided I’d take one of my 25 chances a year to park at Slippery Stones to make the walk here half the distance it is normally.

Léa embodies the romantic but tragic image of the 'completely stoned' artist !

Her music is both an escape and a cry from the heart, and while her condition may be fascinating to some, it also raises questions about the dangers of excess in the artistic world !

The line between creativity and self-destruction is often a thin one for those who live their passion intensely !

I’m guessing that the two stone slabs are bridging the gap over the stream of water. Maybe there if the need arises to get into it.

Seen on a walk that me and Herb took in Stacksteads. They made some disused railway tracks into a pleasant walkway and bridleway.

The stream would have gone under the old railway tracks.

Winskill Stones.

Grid Reference : SD 834 664

Situated in the magnificent landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park

Winskill Stones is a 74 acre area of Limestone grassland and limestone Pavement.

The Model T Ford of stone circles, a very early example. Much older than Stonehenge by almost seven hundred years, being late Neolithic/ Early Bronze Age roughly five thousand years old.

Views in all direction from the circle are spectacular.

Stone on Herringbone and a background layer of feathers which reminded me of herringbone also. The long stone would be just a tiny bit over 3 inches, so I had to crop a bit off

no luck with the shrike today missed it by 10 mins so had a change of plan and went for the stone curlews at weeting

I had the pleasure of shooting this waterfall under almost perfect conditions this past weekend. I used an nd filter and polarizer for a long exposure, turning these bubbles into a beautiful swirl!

Have a great day!

Second picture of the series Hat Stone.

(Yes, believe it or not it is the same place, but from a different point of view towards the East and the great stone to the backlight. As explained in the previous picture, the place is very difficult to control light)

Dawn on the El Sombrerico Beach, several minutes before sunrise.

The name of this amazing beach is due to the huge rock shaped like a magician's hat that juts into the sea.

There are not many photographs of the area, may be because access to this beach is a little difficult, so after driving about 20 minutes fully night by a bad gravel road, you reach this cove by small cliffs headlamp in my head.

For this shot, I was lucky clouds drew lines in the sky and I could compose from that angle.

Moon also appears to the center-right of the frame due to missing several minutes for the sun to make his way out on the horizon.

To reach this picture in one unique Raw, I combined a four steps neutral filter and black card technique.

I hope you like it. Have a nice Tuesday. :)

Stormy skies above the Howden Moors.

I'd been waiting for the right weather (sunshine and showers) to go back to Crow Stones Edge to take some pictures of the iconic gritstone formations. The best illumination is from about 4pm onwards, so with the lengthening days it was now time to give it a go. I climbed the Cut Gate path from the top of the Dams then cut across towards the Bull Stones where the incoming weather looked "lively"!
