This small stone monument stands on the site of the Chandler Farm at Guinea Station and commemorates the Death of Stonewall Jackson who died here on May 10, 1863.
Stonewall National Monument is one of the newer units in the NPS system. As such, it pretty much has no services. Just...an idea. It exists (in name) at Sheridan Square in Greenwich Village to commemorate LGBTQ rights and one of the first places in the US to fight for them.
What the NPS covets most is to have the Stonewall Inn as part of the unit. Much to their chagrin, however, the Stonewall seems to want to continue in its original purpose as a bar. (Love the NPS as I do, I root for the bar.)

His death during the Civil War was a devastating blow to the Confederate Army. General Jackson was laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia and rest with a number of his family members.
