As the still of the night
And the choke of the air
And the winners’ delight
And the losers’ despair
Closes in left and right
I would love not to care
Stone, the world is stone
From a faraway look
So I turn on my heels
I’m declining the fall
I’ve had all I can take
With my back to the wall
Tell the world I’m not in
I’m not taking the call

Stones on beach with sea water rushing around. Think this one looks like animals head ?
Hayling island, Hampshire.
Getting to know my camera by trying some night photography. Taken on the bank of the Mississippi River at the Stone Arch Bridge, looking to downtown Minneapolis.
I have been passing this stone block for years now, and I just noticed the inscription yesterday. I tend to be more observant with a camera in my pocket, and no where to be.

The two stones in the foreground are so worn that someone painted over some of the engraving to make them readable, again. The nearest one is from 1920 and the other from 1872, 142 years before this photo was taken. This is part of Forest Road Anglican Cemetery in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
Created with fd's Flickr Toys. Now I won't be able to stop doing this LOL. This time it took about 6 color shuffles to get this combo.
from Wikipedia:
"Stone Mountain is a granite dome monadnock in Stone Mountain, Georgia.Stone Mountain is well-known not only for its geology, but also for the enormous bas-relief on its north face, the largest bas-relief in the world. Three figures of the Confederate States of America are carved there: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis."
Wow.. here's a really classic Quebec building made of
stone.. kinda cool.. love this sort of building.
The Callanish Stones are an arrangement of standing stones placed in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle. They were erected in the late Neolithic era, and were a focus for ritual activity during the Bronze Age. They are near the village of Callanish on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.
The stones are all of the same rock type, Lewis gneiss, a metamorphic rock. Within the stone circle is a chambered tomb to the east of the central stone.
Stone in crystal clear water at the banks of river gangs. Shot during our River Rafting trip which was an experience in itself!
