The biggest 1/3 of these bulbs are going to be next year's garlic. Hopefully, I'm also going to try a porcelain variety (although I left it too late for the catalogs). The east garden will be almost half garlic (we have a stinky family) and the west one we'll do with spuds.

oooooh! Maybe I spent too long on the laptop yesterday. It's sooooo painful. Needed the hotwater bottle to ease things off. Of course, no sympathy from my loving wife.

I have a stiff neck right now so I'm heating it up with a bag of basmati rice! Feels great! I got it from sitting in the same position too long while at the Nutcracker Suite today.
Okay, I will post our best pictures where we posed like America's Next Top Model...(after we were bored with the balloons, which were beautiful by the way, but they're not as awesome as firecrackers of which I can spend hours looking at the nightsky even if it will cost me a stiffneck).
What started yesterday as a dull neck ache evolved into a debilitating, painful stiff neck today. I couldn't look up, down, or side to side. I couldn't concentrate at work. So I left at lunch, came home, and layed as still as I could.
I slept for 2 hours and while I feel sore, I can look around as necessary. Time for my next dose of Aleve . . .
He thanked me for being the first one to stop and talk to him that day. He told me stories of how much of a cocaine addict he used to be and how he almost died because of it. He was so nice that i felt bad taking his photograph.. but he insisted and gave me the most sincere smile. Smiley smiley : )
The garlic I grew this year, minus what I've already eaten and some that I've already saved out for planting next year. The long scapes in the vase are just there because I like them. The rest I'm either going to eat or use for seed.
I planted my garlic in the spring this year instead of the fall (since my garden wasn't dug yet last fall). I pulled this one up to see if the bulbs were forming. Later I baked the tiny cloves and they roasted like nuts--crunchy and wonderful!

Sorry...it's back to the Great Crested Grebe shots. This is again the juvenile male following the movements of a passer by on the footpath behind where I am sat. Best viewed large. :))
Remedial massage has a routine for a lot of people who have already sailed this ship of pain and instability in the body. It involves treating specific muscles of the body where the pain is centralized. Log on www.eastleighsportsmassage.co.uk/
Minus a couple that I've already eaten and a few that I took out to plant for next year. I still need to choose a few more for seed.
A stiff neck can cause discomfort and may limit your range of motion. In most cases, it lasts anywhere from a day or two to many weeks, although it may occasionally be a symptom of a more serious underlying medical condition.
A person with a stiff neck should rest the affected area and avoid over-exertion. Over-the-counter pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications can also be used to reduce symptoms.
What are the Symptoms of a Stiff neck?
A stiff neck can be annoying but also a sign of an underlying health issue. If you have a sudden stiff neck accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, visit your doctor immediately.
The neck comprises muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones (vertebrae). It’s also protected by discs that absorb shock when you move your head.
Symptoms of a stiff neck can result from anything that causes stress or damage to these components, including accidents, sports injuries and overuse. Arthritis can also cause stiffness in the neck and interfere with everyday activities.
Infections are another common cause of a stiff neck. One of the most dangerous infections is meningitis, which can cause severe fever, headache and a stiff neck.
Fortunately, most cases of neck stiffness are easily treated at home with rest, ice and heat therapy. If you have a fever, meningitis symptoms, or neck pain from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, see your doctor.
