Two weeks back we got together to paint a production. The concept was given the day before, we were all gonna do a sticker concept wall. We were all supposed to do square stickers placed at a semi angle as if sloped ok the wall. Personally I didn’t feel like if all our pieces looked the same way that it would look good and wanted us to push the concept a bit. As I often lose people when I try to get them to follow my concepts I proposed that i could be the exception, i would do a dye cut throwy sticker that would’ve been scratched and ripped and place bits kinda in the background as a way to tie all the wall together. I ended up doing a whole one as-well, and overlapped that one with another. This turned out to work quite well and was a good idea as throwups are super easy to paint when the weather is this cold haha

Well after a crazy year so far, I'm finally able to concentrate on the stickers stuff again, and other stuff! Yep I'm doing kits! This is the prototype of the German Light GP! With the U.S. Roadrunner GP getting a re-design as well!

Stickers as expressions of public opinion and street art are not only part of Berlin's cityscape. In my opinion, it is now suffering due to the increasing number and variety of stickers and the long time they remain stuck on surfaces. However, this photo was taken at the Urban Nation Museum, where visitors were invited to add their own stickers to a sticker board.
Second vehicle was the Sherman itself. I let Austin do this one since he plays with it the most. He used serial numbers, a nickname, the 2x2 star, and a unit insignia and number. Looks nice IMO. He had a lil trouble with the turret, but not because of the stickers. He was squeezing the turret too tight and it was coming apart. He finally got it after a few minutes. :) If you like the stickers, be sure to hit up Jeff's stream at Cooper Works 70.
Disappointment takes many forms.
I originally set out on a nighttime escapade to the Inland Empire to catch a Union Pacific military train interchanging onto the BNSF at Mt. Vernon, before it would eventually make a run for Camp Pendleton. However due to SoCal Edison working on an underground vault in the area a planned blackout put taking pictures in that into the grave from the get go, as a quick back up I ventured out to Rana to see if the BNSF was doing anything.
What I thought to be the switcher for the Auto facility at San Bernardino moving back and fourth, turned out to be BNSF 6163 and 7245 milling around close to the signal at Rana. After they had done a quick double over and air test at the plant, with the Conductor getting back to the leader. BNSF 6163 will get ready to take a short empty rack train to National City, after a pair of eastbound Junkers got out of the way.
I ended up making a bunch of custom sticker designs for the Hibernia scene. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to render those large, curved-top panels correctly here. The white stripes should have a clear gradient to them that trails off to translucent at the top and bottom of each sign. That effect can be seen in the facades breakdown and somehow worked out properly in the final scene too. I guess you win some, you lose some.
The 'BIG FIG' sign is definitely my favorite of the bunch. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be too clear but I think it worked out fine for the final scene. The 'VITA RUSH' sign was fun to design. I tried to take a slightly sci-fi spin on the original logo and I added a juice effect courtesy of one of the Monkie Kid stickers. I probably could have spent more time on the middle two large signs but they aren't visible in the final so its ok by me.
