For a better sense of the true size of this animal, see large view. We watched this bear swim in circles right in front of us for 15-20 minutes. Frankly, we were stunned at the clarity of our view. He swam right up to where we were, and then would turn, blowing bubbles out his nose, and circle back round. We were so fortunate to see him. He was quite beautiful..., and enormous!

I'd like to thank sketchngcastles for letting me know this places existed. This motel is right out side of Cherokee, NC, it is for sale and only open on weekends. Its pretty sad as its very unkempt and abandoned looking. I can just imagine the person who was ambitious enough to create something as remarkeable as the "Teddy Bear Motel" would be heartbroken to see it in this state.

I'm not sure all that sugar was good for that poor bear. Did he have to remove the bottle cap himself, or did they do it for him.
