This bear is about the size of my hand. I got it as a "free gift" with a long-ago mail order. It sits in front of my computer monitor and reminds me not to get stressed out. Who could look at that little teddy-bear face and not smile?

So the first 2 times I drew Colbert, it just didn't work out in my eyes. Even now, I just don't like something about it. This time I captured his likeness most successfully, but I know not successfully enough because instantly someone walked by after I finished it and said "hey that looks like some guy I know". EVENTUALLY, I will get to the point where someone will walk up to my etchasketch piece and say "hey, that is Stephen Colbert." In my defense, since the line quality on a pocket etchasketch is significantly thicker than that of a normal etchasketch, it is more difficult to draw the finer facial details, and IT IS AN ETCHASKETCH. Hahahaha

This sketch took about 20 minutes, because I was trying to be very careful to capture his likeness and not make any mistakes.

Stephen Colbert saw them at the Richmond Olympic Oval when he was cheering on Shani Davis in his gold-medal winning skate. Asked them to perform at Day #2

taping.
