Last night I watched the Colbert Report for the first time in a long while. I was struck by how much Stephen, with his new short haircut, looks like my friend Dan Benjamin. Or maybe like his older brother.

Stephen chatted on his show with American snowboard cross gold medal winner Seth Wescott. Wescott barely edged out Canadian Mike Robertson at the finish line to claim the gold, which generated a good-natured ribbing from the crowd. He signed Stephen's snowboard, which Stephen is holding to Seth's right.
