Pack Creek on Admiralty Island is a natural estuary and small reserve for Brown Bears. This little mommy and her three babies were very curious about us and what we were doing. She brought them to within 15 feet of us.

The bear paced in a circle, reared up, turned around, walked back, and repeated these movements a number of times. I think he was dancing.

San Diego Zoo, Panda Exhibit. We were fortunate to be able to see them when they were eating, and to get such a great view! Personally, I especially like that they are vegetarians! And the Zoo person at this exhibit made a special point of saying that they had *become* vegetarians, and were not vegetarians initially.... My, aren't they evolved though!

Post-flight inspection of the SRB holddown frangible nut used in STS-135 on Hold Down Post #1 (starboard side, inboard, on the Shuttle side of the stack). The two halves of the nut are laid with the top end toward the center of the photo, with shards that are blown off during the explosion that releases the Space Shuttle from the launch pad. The crossover groove around the top end of the nut is plainly visible.
