The Williams Tower (formerly the Transco Tower) is a skyscraper located in the Uptown District of Houston, Texas. It was designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, in association with Houston-based Morris-Aubry Architects, and erected in 1983. The tower is among Houston's most visible buildings. The building is the 4th-tallest in Texas, the 22nd-tallest in the United States, and the 80th-tallest building in the world. It is the tallest building in Houston outside of Downtown Houston. The building has the United States headquarters of the Hines Interests real estate firm.

Hines Interests LP was the original developer of the tower. In 2008 an affiliate of Hines purchased the Williams Tower for $271.5 million. The building was offered along with the parking garage, a 2.3 acres tract across the street from the Williams Tower, and a 48% stake in the Williams Waterwall and the surrounding park; Hines had already owned the other 52% of the waterwall.

In 2002, Ryan John Hartley climbed the Williams Tower unharnessed and jumped from the 30th story committing suicide. He had on him a political note that did not detail if it was his intention to jump.

At 64 stories and 909 feet (277 m) above the ground level, the Williams Tower is the tallest building in Houston outside of Downtown Houston. When it was constructed in 1983, it was also the world's tallest skyscraper outside of a city's central business district.

The building is unique in that it was built to function as two separate towers stacked directly on top of one another, one comprising the first forty floors and the other the forty-first to sixty-fourth. The building has separate banks of elevators and lobbies for each of the two building sections. A majority of the bottom 40 floors are occupied by Williams. The remainder of the building is occupied by a variety of tenants. The building's stepback design suggests one of Johnson's earlier (and smaller) works, the IDS Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Williams Tower was named "Skyscraper of the Century" in the December 1999 issue of Texas Monthly magazine. Paul Gapp of the Chicago Tribune said that the building became an "instant classic" when it opened. Paul Goldberger of The New York Times said that the tower gave Post Oak Boulevard "a center, an anchor, which most outtowns lack."

Last under The Sun was put together in Birmingham by Mark Badger in 2000. The band has had several line up changes over the years. Last Under The Sun played its first gig on 9th October 2001, at Manhattens, Hereford, UK with Eggraid and Redshift. The band is based in Birmingham and plays a mixture of punk and hardcore. The band has played all over the place gigging up and down England, Wales and Scotland and in 2004 and 2005 the band went to mainland Europe visiting Holland, Belgium, France and Germany with Sensa Yuma. At the start of 2008 the band ended up working with Pid and Chris and toured Europe as half of the new line up of a reformed Police Bastard.

Last Under The Sun found another new drummer in 2008 called Simon (ex-Rivers Edge who also got roped into playing drums for Police Bastard), and the band has started to work on new material and all the rest. The band hope to release some more new recordings in 2010 and tour Europe next.

A good friend of the band called Peej has put together a video for “Reversa” and “Summers Day” from the album “Gone” which was recorded in 2005 and has used music by Last Under the Sun for a short film called “Dividers.”

Again, some photo therapy to let it go.

Lobby area:

The Kansas City Power and Light Building is crowned by prismatic glass panels concealing red-orange lights that glow each evening at sunset. Originally, each recessed stepback of the building also held alternating multicolor flickering flood lights that dazzled nighttime viewers with the impression of blazing flames.[2] Today, only the lantern on the top the structure is illuminated by this effect.

The Kansas City Power and Light Building (also called the "KCP&L Building" and the "Power & Light Building") is a landmark skyscraper located in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Construction was completed in 1931, as a way to promote new jobs in Downtown, and since then, the Art Deco Kansas City Power and Light Building has been a prominent part of the Kansas City skyline.

It's been forever since ive got any deer photos, so i decided to head out to the park tonight to (hopefully) Find some bucks. I saw one with only one antler, he was pretty interesting, but was skiddish and ran back into the woods before i could get a decent shot. I ran into these beauties and inched my way closer.. i got the dreaded Stomp a few times before she ran off. Isnt she beautiful with her Winter coat?

In the bunkhouse on family farm in Montana. Each drawer has label that reads "Do not use this drawer." Pardon the broken medicine cabinet on top.

heres a photo of my old stepback cupboard, the lighting wasnt great so some of my pics, didnt come out quite the way I wanted them to. Tucked away inside are some of my family heirlooms. This piece is from the late 1800's to very early 1900's.

These two pieces are a few of my Prized posessions. The old pottery pitcher and creamer , were passed down by my great, great, great, grandmother Elizabeth. Dating these to around 1850. They look great against the chippy green paint inside my stepback.

Made by John Maddock & Sons, I'm guessing 1920s or 1930s. They've now been put out for adoption at Stepback, a wonderful little shop on West Broadway in Vancouver.

I like the faces of innocence and curioisty looking at me. Exactly the young buffalo on the left walked to me quite fast. This made me stepback somehow. But I think he/she meant no harm just over-curious on me.

Here is the answer of previous photo of my photostream . : D

Some days, you have to stop caring so much & take a step back. Some days, you really need to take that step back before you can take two steps forward.

She sighs and tucks her hair behind her ear while she stares and tries to concentrate. There's a book in her lap, but she can't focus on anything that's written on it-she's over thinking about what's going on in her life. It's only when rain drops fall on her that she realizes it's gotten darker and there's clouds overhead.

She's sitting next to the fountains; it had been a warm, sunny day so far-peaceful around her, but war rages in her head. She can't stop analyzing everything that's been going on; her mind is in overdrive.

She looks up and sighs again. It's almost time for her mid-term exam; she tries shoving all the other thoughts away, but she's worrying too much. She takes a long, deep breath, and focuses again. One fight at a time.

This beautiful and authentic Ontario pine cupboard belongs to a good friend of ours who is selling her home and moving to a smaller residence. Unfortunately for her, there will be no space for this piece in the new house, so she is offering it for sale. I have admired it for many years and would love to have it myself, but my wife and I downsized when we gave up our antiques business six years ago and we still have too much in our new house.

To help her get a bit more exposure for the cupboard, I am showing it here and letting as many people as I can know it is available. The cupboard should be selling for $10,000-$12,000 so someone is going to get a great piece of Canadiana at a very reasonable price.

Her description of the cupboard is as follows:

This two piece stepback blind cupboard, which was probably 1 piece originally, features hand-planed raised panels on the doors, both

inside and out, and intricate moulding on the face. Original green paint with some restoration. Measures 63"W x 80"H x 22"D (base) x14"D (top). Circa 1860, Eastern Ontario.

Price - $7800.00 CDN REDUCED to $6,000

By the way, the light patches are the sun shining on the piece. Not paint defects.

If you are interested in the piece and would like to speak to the owner, send me a message by FlickrMail with your name and telephone number, and I will pass it on to my friend. She will then contact you to answer any questions you may have and arrange a viewing.

This stepback cupboard we found in Strausburg, VA. Joe restored it and it now houses my collection of vintage Pyrex. I love Pyrex because of the colors, though I shy away from pieces with designs on them and I tend to like the colors of the 50s and 60s best! And YES, we do use all this stuff!
