Step 1: Load, Straighten, and Crop
Load your 0EV image set into MS ICE and wait a bit while it aligns the images. If your horizon is a bit wonky, hit that little cube icon at the top. Then move your mouse out to the edges of the frame so you get the rotation tool and adjust to suit.
Then set up your crop. The automatic crop button works pretty well, but in this case I had to do it manually since I wanted as much horizon as possible, and I didn't shoot enough to the sides on the top and bottom rows.
Save the project, and export a TIFF file at 100% resolution.
Then WRITE DOWN YOUR CROP SETTINGS as highlighted above. Sadly, MS ICE doesn't save these into the project file.

This is what you should do now:
Step1: Detach the $32,500.00 Special Claim Label mare out in your name.
Step 2: Now affix the label in the appropriate space on your Check Preparation Request.
Step 3: Take a look at our latest brochure and fill in your Order Form in order to receive your Free Gift.
Step 4: Our Financial Director is expecting your reply within the next 10 days, therefore we prepared several documents for you to return.
Needless to say that my colleagues and I would appreciate that you place an order.
In any case do not forget to affix your $32,500.00 Special Claim Label on your Check Preparation Request, not only because this element is essential, but I also have to receive it as soon as possible.
Thus you will quickly benefit from your win.
I am now looking forward to hearing from you.

At Aston University, just off Woodcock Street, outside the Sack of Potatoes pub. As you walk into the university campus, on your left you will see the first of two fantastic water sculptures. Tipping Triangles (1994) by Angela Connor is constantly in motion, with each of its huge metal panels, or 'tippers', shifting back and forth as the water pressure changes. Angela Connor worked with Barbara Hepworth, a pioneering British sculptor whose innovations in using abstract shapes and elemental forms were heavily influenced by Picasso. The legacy of both Picasso and Hepworth is continued strongly in this work.

To launch a new Flickr Group called Tech Repair, here's a few (uninspiring!) photos of a friend's Epson printer which stopped working, but was easily fixed with a bit of Googling...
See the full tech-repair post here
It's an Epson C42 that has reached it's "end of service" (see photos), a chip that stops it working after a while, when it estimates the ink-pads are full. I know of someone else that threw out their Epson printer because of the same problem. The printers are otherwise in full working order... they've just got some excess ink in them... what a waste!!
(rant on) In my opinion it's just bad design and "planned obsolescence" - money-grubbing bastards! (rant off).
Other than that I quite like Epson printers ;-)
Join the group and spread the word... hopefully we'll save a few devices and a bit of landfill space :)
A simple experiment which demonstrates the effect of smoke particles as nucleation centres causing condensation.
Step1:
A small quantity of smoke is added from a smoking wooden splint or a smoking match to a plastic bottle partially filled with water.
Step 2:
This is a reversible process. When the plastic bottle is squeezed there is an increase in pressure causing a rise in temperature. No condensation is visible.
Step 3:
Stop squeezing the bottle. As you let go the bottle the air expands and cools down. As the temperature is lowered condensation occurs producing a cloud in the bottle.
Step 4:
Repeatedly and quickly then squeeze to make the cloud disappear (evaporation) and stop squeezing to get the cloud to reappear (condensation).
Without the smoke particles no cloud appears! In the Earth's atmosphere cloud formation can result when there is tiny dust particles e.g. from volcanic erruptions or man-made particles such as silver iodide during cloud seeding.
Could formation may form which would not otherwise not occur if such particles were not present. The moisture content, air pressure and temperature still have to be at optimum values for condensation to occur to cause cloud formation and even rain! The optimum conditions required for cloud seeding in the Earth's atmosphere are are still controversial!

my home-made 'command line interface' via the serial port on the arduino lets me spin up or down any drive I want.
this capture is the initial full run of SPINmaster, letting each drive spin up, slowly.
after the process completes, the user is allowed to change a single drive (at a time) to UP or DOWN states.

This is how one spends public day at Brickworld. Pretend that the 1x6 tiles are these and that I could find all the primitive elements to have the newer version of 1x2x2 panels instead of the old. Pretty much a rehash of this guy but with a different load and slightly different internal structures. I don't know what I would do without 3176.
Step1:
Remove the lens mount screws revealing the circuit board.
Watch out for the ribbon cables, the lens contacts are on a thick, short ribbon and only move like in the photo.
