Subcommittee by Tony Cragg - Hirshhorn Museum Plaza

2 March: On my way to work ....mmm ... I don't work on a Sunday, but I didn't let that stop me from getting my photo-a-day. The weather was dreadful and no let up in the rain so I braved the elements and headed out to take photos of landmarks that I pass on my way to work.

Top left: The Beehive - a steel structure on the roundabout at Shadsworth Business Park, just off the M65 J5, represents the hive of industry inspired by the busy bees found on Blackburn's coat of arms.

Top right: The Willows - restaurant at the Beehive roundabout

Bottom left: Water fountain outside Euro Garages Offices

Bottom right: Fighting Stags - a steel structure recently placed outside the hospital where I work. It is of two stags fighting, which symbolises a struggle through adversity and the need to meet problems head on.

Murinsel (Mur Island) spans the Mur River in Graz, Austria. Designed by New York artist Vito Acconci for Graz's year as European Capital of Culture in 2003, the steel-and-glass structure serves as both a pedestrian bridge and a floating public space, connecting the historic old town with the modern city.

Another pic of a climbing frame from today. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.. I liked the colours but to me it sort of looks like something Dr Frankenstien would of created if he had been in the scaffolding industry. Large version looks better:).
