At the Essexville power plant there are two locomotives used to move coal around the plant. A Brookville thing numbered 72-007 and this former Canadian SW1200RS. This unit is the main locomotive used and is planned to be shifted to West Olive now that Essexville has unloaded its last train of coal.
This is a portrait of one of our beautiful equine friends we've been visiting for years. I don't know if they have names, I don't know anything about them. I just know I love them - especially this beauty, who's getting old now. Look at the streaks of white in his hair.... he's still beautiful to me. Yesterday, I told him I love him. I hope he understood. If I could, I'd have him for myself !

When I was recovering from the worst of Covid, and reflecting on the way it had threatened my partner’s life, I was wondering how on earth I was going to put into words what I felt, poetically. For a while there nothing would come, but then as I was listening to the music of U2, and in this case, also watching the video with it, which has become a classic, I was filled with inspiration.
The image I was thinking of using matched the emotive feel of the song and film. I was so struck by it the words just flowed out. And this is the result.
The image was taken at Glynde Church, in East Sussex, UK. There was something about this image that suggested something was going on ‘off camera’ so to speak. Very emotive, as if some ‘people’ were going to appear in the image from the left side…..
