It was good to get out on the bike again and see some familiar sites such as the canal at Kingswood in Lapworth

Path on the South Downs, just outside Brighton, photographed during my "one form of daily exercise".

Although I’ve driven through a few times I’ve never stopped. So today we wandered round this beautiful market town and enjoyed our exercise time.

I thought I'd show you how my drawing looks in the window. I haven't seen anyone look at it so far, but hopefully it's making people smile! We spend most of our day in the back room, where it's sunny and we can look out at the garden.

You never know what is gonna come your way.....

So lovely to see the younger generation taking the coronavirus rules seriously and wearing face masks in shops.

Does this work if someone is setting the brambles on fire? May need a plan B.

Winter and snow is coming soon. I’ll be very alert in my car and scooter plus canoeing ✌️👍😊

Stay Alert!..The Wren is on watch all the time.

Different rules from lockdown 1 but for a clearly defined period of 4 weeks. In a Coronavirus update today from Downing Street Boris Johnson stated “this package expires on December 2nd”. The question is will we then go back to tiers?

....... I would have said returning to normality but Churchill Square was nothing like the normal life I had before lockdown. 3 months since I've been to a shop other than Asda. In our new norm the routes in, out and round are all one-way with arrows on the floor that you're supposed to follow and attendants making sure shoppers follow the route. Sanitizing stop points en route and Clear View Channels helping us 'stay alert'.

Coronavirus - the way out of lockdown series

It's the first time I've seen a sign saying "Stay Alert".

The governments new slogan:

Stay alert, control the virus, save lives

The UK is divided as Scotland, Wales and Northern Island have announced they will stay in lockdown for at least another 3 weeks and Boris Johnson has announced a 3 step plan for coming out of lockdown starting Monday morning.

So no English residents can visit Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland for at least 3 weeks 🤔

Some children drew this on the pathway to highlight the Coronavirus 2m social distancing rule.

From what I learned from the media today they have more sense than crowds of so-called adults, who intentionally defied (en-bloc) that rule in a London park. Also, in one Liverpool park.

The women were fined £200 each by Derbyshire Police on 6 January 2021 for driving to a beauty spot to walk and their drinks were classed as a picnic.

Birmingham Live reported:

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: "The current guidance states that while you are able to exercise you should do so locally – defined as being within your village, town or city area.

"We of course understand that there may be valid reasons for travelling outside of these areas for exercise, however, driving to a location – where exercise could easily have been taken closer to a person’s home – is clearly not in the spirit of the national effort to reduce our travel, reduce the possible spread of the disease and reduce the number of deaths.

"Each officer will use their professional judgement on a case-by-case basis, however, people should expect to be challenged and understand the clear reasons why they may be asked about their movements given the critical situation the NHS currently finds itself in."

On review of the case, the Derbyshire Police withdrew the penalty notices on 11 January 2021.

Melbourne Hall was originally the rectory house for the Bishops of Carlisle. In 1629-31 Sir John Coke, Secretary of State to King Charles I, bought the house. It was substantially rebuilt by Thomas and George Coke in the early 18th century. Lord Melbourne, Prime Minister to Queen Victoria, inherited the house and estate in 1828. His name was given to Melbourne, Australia.

Lord Melbourne was separated from his wife, Lady Caroline Lamb, in 1825, when her liaison with Lord Byron had become notorious.
