Foggy days

Maracena, 2021

The standing stones on top Clent Hills. This is taken after the fog had lifted.

Thought the stones looked as if they were tentatively holding hands!

While these Killdeer were quite a distance away I thought it presented an interesting photo.

Buachaille Etive Mor, the most photographed hill in Scotland.

At first I was not sure whether to add my picture to the already saturated Flickr stream. Also, I usually have a rule that I want to hike at least one hour for each hour of driving. In this way enjoying walking, fresh air, and spending time with my dog will always take priority over taking a snapshot from the top! Something that is very important to me.

But hey, rules are meant to be broken. So here it is, the 1 millionth picture of Buachaille Etive Mor..... :-)

I hope everyone is having a good and not so rainy weekend.

Still standing - The old packhorse bridge at Carrbridge, still standing since 1717.

It is the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands, built during 1717 as previousy there was no place to cross the River Dulnain when it was in spate, much to the inconvenience of the locals at that time. It was severely damaged in the 'muckle spate' flood of 1829, leaving it in the state we see today.

Many thanks to williamrandle who provided me with the inspiration to visit this location following his own visit earlier this year.

Last week in the Glemm Valley (Glemmtal) in Austria i took this shot when there was a lot of morning mist after heavy rains on the day before.

Standing perhaps after it's original usefulness... We've traveled so many roads over the past three years that it's increasingly hard to find one we haven't been down and sometimes we are going down a road that we think is new to us and then we see something iconic like this silo and realize, yes we have been down this road before! Sometimes though it's a different season or a different direction. Either way, here's to country roads with little to no traffic!

ATSF 1569 was built Santa Fe 4015 by EMD in June 1969. In December 1985, it was rebuilt, renumbered ATSF 1569, and repainted in the "Kodachrome" SPSF merger paint scheme.

Just a bunch of Mallards and a couple of Wigeons standing around shooting the breeze. Cold feet

Still standing. I saw so many gladioli that had fallen down with all the rain we've been having, but this one was doing fine.

There was at least 8 Black Oystercatchers along the water's edge, some just standing watch while others were combing the shoreline for clams to indulge on.

Seven stones standing...

Ok.. Maybe a couple more than seven...

An Australian Pelican waiting patiently for lunch time to roll around at Charis Fish Market, on the Gold Coast. Once the fish have been filleted, the remaining frames are fed to the many waiting Pelicans. These birds are amazing fliers, with a 2.5m wingspan, and have been seen at great heights, and covering long distances.
