This was just for fun today. I drove past and spotted this field of dandelions this morning when returning from the golf course. You can see that I had to go back because it wouldn't be around much longer, all those seeds were going to blow away soon.
Crab spider (Mecaphesa spp.) vs. skipper with the Purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) as the battleground. There are battles everyday, everywhere you look.
The Ramses II obelisk stands on a fake travertine cliff, on which is grafted on a plinth decorated by dolphins corners, while on two sides of the plinth itself are carved two monumental coats Albani. On the other faces is repeated epigraph which celebrates the actions of Clement XI:
Clemens XI Pope [ordered] the ornamenting of the fountain and plazain the year 1711, the 11th year of his papacy.
At the base of the plinth run inscriptions concerning the restoration: RESTORED Anno Domini. MDCCCIV (1804); S.P.Q.R- RESTORED 1880
MDCCCIV (1804);S.P.Q.R- RESTAURATA 1880
The Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley are a harsh environment for plants of all kinds. In this picture, the five bushes stand together to survive the wind-driven sand that makes life difficult, as witnessed by the sticks standing in the background. I took this photo on our visit to Death Valley National Park in 2017.

This is lit by hand in less than one second!
he past few months have been mostly about producing higher quality work. This is not very relevant for social media, but I'm obsessed with the idea of scaling up my images for some future projects.
This is a single exposure, fresh from today. Check out the close-up: twitter.com/ericpare/status/1587956945994108928 😱💙🌟

African Jacana Chick
This little fellow is approximately 2 weeks old and stands about 125mm (5 inches) high. He is all toes!
These chicks are hatched from eggs laid in a nest built on floating vegetation and spend their lives in fresh-water margins. They favour water surfaces covered by water-lilies. Interestingly, the male incubates and takes over all parental duties once the last egg is laid.
This image was captured on the Chobe River, near Kasane, Northern Botswana, Southern Africa.

The reservoir stands at the side of Ringstone Edge Moor, named after the ring of megalithic stones which once stood on the moor, sadly not much remains to be seen now, the circle is just about visible but the standing stones have long since toppled over.
It stands at 302 metres (990 feet) above sea level, whenever we walk up here it’s always windy and today was no exception. In the distance you can see to the right Flints Moor, towards the centre of the picture is Great Manshead Hill, just to the left of the tower on the reservoir wall you can just see the dam of Baitings Reservoir.
This area is popular with walkers and bird watchers, who must be hardy souls as the weather up here can be appalling. The area surrounding the reservoir is a conservation area in the care of a Yorkshire Water.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
... Downpatrick Head and Me
Downpatrick Head is a majestic heritage site found about 5 km north of Ballycastle village. Jutting out into the ocean and rising almost 40m above the waves, it provides unparalleled views of the Atlantic, including the unique collection of islands known as the Staggs of Broadhaven. You can also spot the nearby Dún Briste sea stack, with its different coloured layers of rock and nesting seabirds. In addition to the natural scenery and wildlife, Downpatrick Head is home to the ruins of a church, holy well and stone cross, which together mark the site of an earlier church founded by St Patrick.
Love these weird looking grass pads, so green, soft and sponge ;)
♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥
Farol de Alfanzina lighthouse stands prominently on the rugged coastal cliffs of Carvoeiro, Faro, Portugal. The lighthouse, with its distinct red dome, overlooks the expansive Atlantic Ocean. The landscape features layers of sedimentary rock formations and sparse vegetation typical of the Algarve coastline. The cliffs are steep and jagged, showcasing natural erosion and providing breathtaking views of the surrounding seascape. The photo captures a serene moment with blue skies and a few distant birds soaring above.
"We're here again, " I say to my friend / Who is good among good men / His song is low and knows what it is worth / And tells me that to love, I must suffer under Her / I know I've tried / To be good / To be unsure / All that I am / When I go down into that night / And there's no hope in the plan / And I can barely see my feet / Will you meet me where I stand? During the Electro Motive Division tour on September 26, 1989, the walk through the electrical department was quite interesting. Here, a state of the art AAR locomotive control stand is on display for the public view before it is installed into a new SD60.

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry
I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand by me

Listen to one of the greatest love songs of all time: Ben E. King - Stand By Me
Stand by Me: Ben E King
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me
Stand by me
Darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me
Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh stand by me, oh won't you stand now, stand
Stand by me...
