don't get me started. on a lighter note, there's been a whole cantaloupe sitting on the shoulder of our local highway for 4 days. the gods are speaking.
A Mourning Dove stands tall, picture perfect and ready to be photographed. He didn't flinch or budge, and let me take numerous photos of him and his mate.
Cormorants are large waterbirds with small heads on long, kinked necks. They have thin, strongly hooked bills, roughly the length of the head. Their heavy bodies sit low in the water.
An upright, decades old tree testifies to successfully surviving years of storms, dryness or too much rain. When our two children were young we challenged them to learn how to stand alone, apart from the pressures of their peers. Little did we know that like all of us, their greatest battles were yet in the distant years to come and then they would have to pass this lesson on to their children.

The fog rolled in this morning and I couldn't resist trying to get a shot of it before the sun burned it off.
I'm glad I ventured out, because I really like the way this one turned out. The fog was starting to recede at this point, but it's still quite visible around the tree.
Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day.

This Great Egret was a standout for sure. It is funny, I was at that park to take Gator photos, but like many of my photo trips, the birds just grab my attention.

I can't imagine what it was like to stand your ground an fight in a castle like this. It look big and sturdy but they fell all the time, when do you going from the nice secure feeling to that feeling your just a mouse stuck in a trap?
