The image for today was taken this late this afternoon between the Broadgate area and the Cathedral Quarter in Coventry City centre. The view is of the Grade I listed Holy Trinity Church. The original church was built about the beginning of the 12th century. It seems that the church was built as a side chapel for the much larger Benedictine Priory of St Mary (the First of Coventry's Three Cathedral's) which was located next door to Holy Trinity and founded by Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva. During the Mid 13th Century the church was nearly completely destroyed in a fire, the only part of the original church to survive was the North Porch (which still survives to this day). During the 15th Century the painting of the Last Judgement was created above the tower arch. This is now considered to be one of the most impressive Doom wall-painting now remaining in an English church. One of the many famous local people known to attend Holy Trinity church over the years was Mary Ann Evans, the 19th century novelist better known by her pen name of George Eliot.

The photo was taken using the app KitCam on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I Cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I then boosted the Contrast, Saturation, Ambiance, Shadows and Warmth. I also added a vignette and decreased the Highlights to help bring out some more detail in the sky. Next I used the app Stackables to apply the formula called Ancient Ruins. I then used the app DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Bliss texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Warm preset, the Drama FX and a Medium Dark Vignette. I then applied the Scratched texture and the Leather frame.

As I was coming out of my apartment to get the bus one foggy morning this week, I noticed several old spider webs on the railings which were covered in dew. I took several shots with my macro lens. I noticed that I could see the reflection of the apartment in the drops. I played with the colors and added the bokeh texture for drama, and I flipped it upside down. I thought it worked better as a composition and really increased the brightness of the drops of water. The textures were created by me with the Stackables App on my iPhone. #stackablesapp

Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.”

The 2 white dots in the middle are lights from a drone on the beach.

Waiting for the ferry after work and praying that the rain held off because I forgot my umbrella, I noticed the lone sailboat briskly making it's way to dock. It looked like it was trying to outrun the rain also, but it was right under a large, imposing cloud. #stackablesapp
