Long exposure of 15 seconds of the stack near Thortonloch in Scotland. Taken before the loss of my ten stop.
Not the best angle / comp, but couldn't take this shot from anywhere else. Was standing on the arch to get this shot, so had very limited space/ angles. Couldn't even fully extend the tripod due to the width.
Luckily there was no wind otherwise I wouldn't of chanced it.
Clouds stacked in orton
These clouds were taken in from my home, here in West Richland, Washington. My mom & I seen these on our walk, they were quite beautiful and unique.

This is the Michican City Generating Station. The 3 stacks are on a disused portion of the plant. The active boiler house is on the right out of the photo. Photographed from atop a dune in Washington Park at night.
Photographed on Kodak Vision 3 5219 motion picture film using a NIkon F with the FTN finder and the Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 lens. Developed in the Kodak ECN-2 chemistry formulated from raw materials.
Few things make me happier than a pile of books. Except maybe two piles. Or more.
These are at the home of a good friend ~ The kind that gives you free rein to take pictures of their stuff.
In Chichester Cathedral..waiting to be set out for a service...

I of course think it is wonderful but everyones tastes are different :))
We are riding on a legend in the intermodal world. Over the past 50 years, you could find these monster machines in the yards of most railroads across the country.
The PC90 was an intermodal loader built by FWD Wagner Company. Manufacturing began in the late 1960s. They can still be found loading and unloading trains today.
Today, the last container of UPS high priority freight is being set for pick up. After an inspection of the cars, the track will be released and the cars placed into a train.
It was awesome to ride this beast. The operator was a veteran at ITS and was very skilled. He precisely spotted containers on chassis and well cars. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this behind the scenes side of railroading.
The PC90 is a huge machine. It is much larger than the modern European built counterparts that are replacing them. When the operator opens the tucked in legs and spread them wide open. the PC90 resembles a Transformer. It's size seems to increase quite a bit. Let me tell you, Bumblebee has nothing on the PC90!
Stack Em!
A big thanks to Tony Knowles for giving us a taste of this Gas Turbine Beauty, never heard it before and wow what a noise...!
Even the Scania V8 boys Don't have Stacks as wide as that!
Andrena macra. One of almost 100 species of Andrena that occur in the State of Maryland. Quick glance, another dark bee, but if you look close you will see the dense pitting on the top of the abdomen, the subtle white hair bands on the abdomen, and most importantly the clincher is the inner tibial spur is s-curved in sigmoidality, while other species have more or less straight ones...sadly this is not visible in this picture, but take a look at the lovely tongue architecture instead and ponder why your tongue does not look like that. Or ... is it a tongue? Photo by Brooke Goggins.

We Are Made One with What We Touch and See
We are resolved into the supreme air,
We are made one with what we touch and see,
With our heart's blood each crimson sun is fair,
With our young lives each spring impassioned tree
Flames into green, the wildest beasts that range
The moor our kinsmen are, all life is one, and all is change.

Part of my de-stressing regime - baking a whole stack of banana walnut chocolate chip and oats cookies!
Former N&W M-class 4-8-0 #475, dressed up as #382, performs a photo runby east of Esbenshade's.
Though most people's attention was on the J, the smaller engine definitely was not to be forgotten - what she lacks in size she makes up for with attitude, and it was very evident coming out the stack!

Who knew I would have so much fun watching all of the machines working on the sidewalk, soon to be street too. We will be surrounded by a construction zone outside for awhile.
Machines and construction zones are not my normal subjects for photos so a fun and interesting challenge for me!

When VHS first came out, Disney made limited releases of all the Classics. Most were available for only one year and people eagerly awaited the next release. Fast forward 15 years. VHS was obsolete, those eagerly sought tapes were in thrift stores at a dollar apiece. That's when my grandchildren were little!!!! A trip to the thrift store and....Disney Magic for two little ones at Grandpa's house!!!!!
Underexposed (whoops) photo of West Burton's stacks against the pink-ish evening sky.
Somehow when I butcher a photo and try to recover it, occasionally it comes out the other side with a bit of charm to it… I weirdly like this one.
I was awaiting a stack heading west that had a UP Heritage unit (WP 1983) as the second unit, but lo and behold, this one was not the one. It turned out it was behind this one, but eventually the prized stacker was allowed to overtake and pass this one, as it came through Colton a short time later ahead of the pictured one.
