Taken from the Whitney Ridge subdivision in Cheyenne, Wyoming between 9:10 to 9:30PM during deep blue hour.

This storm was about 70 miles to my south over northern Colorado. I captured only 12 bolts out of 990- 1 sec exposures.

Composite image was accomplished using Photoshop and lightening the stack. The tower-like structures on the horizon are windmills on the Wyoming-Colorado border some 16 miles away.

Note the (lighter cloud) over-shooting storm top at center.

A few years ago I was given some sand from Hawaii that was collected from beach towels. This is a focus stacked image of two grains that are so small, if they were dropped they would be lost.

I photographed this zinnia bud at a garden near my home. I thought it was beautiful. Photographed in Maryland.

My second attempt at focus stacking, this time using 5 exposures of circa 10 - 15 seconds

River Ice on the edge of the Hudson River. The Hudson is a tidal River, and thus lends itself to such grand fluctuation , The coast Guard mans an Ice cutter daily to keep a channel open , which add to these natural ice stacks! Ice on the River is one of my favorite things to photograph , it is always changing and amazingly beautiful...despite the cold! Thanks for your visit and comment
