a Heron at sunrise during a cold day
Today temp was -2°C at sunrise
I saw this heron waiting in water near to a bridge with a nice reflection.
There was no light at all so I had to use a very slow shutter speed (1/50s) at 600mm to limit the ISO to 640. The double stabilization (lens+camera) was really really efficient. 1/50s is amazing for me : I was hand held !!!
Distance +/-35m
Zoom in please for more details

Taken from Bayfront Park in Petoskey, Michigan. There is a limestone rock barrier stabilizing the shoreline.
Morning frost on a truck skeleton at Wagonseller farm, a little known part of Valley Forge NHP. Unlike the main part of the park, which plays an iconic role in the early American history, heavily visited and rather very touristy, Wagonseller is disconnected from the main section, on the other side of the river and on the other side of a highway beyond the river, and is not developed at all. It used to be a working farm and remains frozen in time from the days is was abandoned (I believe the park stabilizes the farm buildings to prevent further decay, but that's about it). I highly recommend it. If you can find it, that is :-) Well, geotag to your rescue. It is perfectly accurate. It is not a secret location.
Certe volte sono bianche
e corrono

Sometimes they are white
and they run
and take the shape of the heron
or of the sheep
or some other beast
but this is what children see best
who play to run after him for many meters
from Le Nuvole - poem by Fabrizio De Andrè
Ammophila arenaria is a herbaceous plant of the Poaceae family, widespread in the Mediterranean basin and on the Atlantic coasts of France, Spain and Portugal. Although it originates from the European coasts, it was introduced to other continents to stabilize the sand dunes, so now it is found on coastal dunes around the world.

Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

I like flowers. It is difficult to find good flowers in winter, but we can still find fresh flowers in stores. There are many different small, interesting objects in nature for macro photography. I took this picture with Tokina macro lens, it doesn’t have image stabilization, but very sharp and compact lens. I don’t use flash for macro photography because I don’t like highlight on the objects. I took one shot and didn’t use photo stacking in photoshop. Rose are big flowers and are easy to photograph. Smaller flowers are difficult to photograph. Have a wonderful day!

It's impossible to recover a movement blur with a sharpening filter : a sharpening filter will only add noise in this case but it will never recover details.
TOPAZ AI SHARPEN includes a new function called STABILIZE that is different from a simple sharpening filter. It tries to find a movement on the photo and to cancel it. That's why sometimes there are small artifacts on the opposite side of the movement, but it is really easy to deal with them with GIMP or photoshop.
To conclude : this tool deserves a try as it is free for 30 days.
It is very usefull for animals in movement (birds in flight, animals running ...), but it can manage movement of the photographer too.

The redwoods are really big, so fun to see. It is quite dark, so the image stabilization of the OM-1 was very handy. I was able to keep ISO low, and have the shutter speed be 0.5 seconds, and the image is still very sharp.

When people talk about macro, they mostly mention the flower, but we can find many small interesting subjects in nature, which will be beautiful. I like macro photography because it is so simple, and it is easy to find. We don’t need to travel miles to find a small subject. I shot these flowers today. It is so simple, and they are so easy to find. Sometimes I need to drive a few miles to find a small subject. I only need a 105mm macro lens which is small and compact, so I can get closer to the subject and it can still focus. I have three macro lenses. I like Sigma because of the image stabilization.

The former water tower for the Synder mansion in Lake Ha Ha State Park in Missouri. The mansion would pump water from natural springs below for use at the mansion. The water tower was in dilapidated condition until stabilized a few years back...
This song sparrow had alit in this location recently, and still had its tail feathers spread - a different look from what I usually see. Seen near the waterfront of the Willamette in Downtown Portland.
Unfortunately, this picture is not quite sharp... Clumsy me, that forgot to turn off the image stabilization...
But I can't delete it.. Despite the softness, I like the composition, the colours, the clouds... And I'm sure that I will not get this elements again in this same way...
A cropped and stabilised image of a male Dartford warbler (Sylvia undata) in Browndown south. Took a bit of time to get this shot then in exited stage right or left!
It's a photo that took me over an hour. My lens's stabilization and autofocus are broken and it's quite heavy! Not easy to take this photo, knowing that I absolutely wanted to photograph a bird with outstretched wings, exactly at this place, because there is a gap in the vegetation and I have the impression of seeing a face with the shape of the branches and leaves (a paredolia).
(Yes I should have used a tripod, it would have been easier, but mine does not allow the camera to be vertical. :-) )

A nice little hike through old growth Redwoods from Elk Meadow at Redwood National and State Parks brings up this tiny but pretty falls named after the flower. Used a piece of rock to stabilize my camera. Tripod could have been better but there was not enough space to place it anyway.

Quick single shot @ 400mm, stabilization off, tripod, 10s timer, ISO 320, f7.1, 1/25s (should be 10x higher, but has worked OK for this scene shot). The reflection on the glass building comes from the body of water not part of the shot. Camera raw editor has enabled recovering highlights.
... the stabilization of this camera and lens is fantastic. The photo was taken handheld just supporting myself on the window board with a 1/10 sec to emphasize the pouring rain ...
Tech.
Robins are partial migrants. They can be found here all year round, whereas robins from colder regions migrate to the Mediterranean and the Middle East in winter. This little feathered wonder has a special protein in its eye that allows it to see the earth's magnetic field. It therefore always knows in which direction it is flying.
Tech. Detail: The lighting situation in the forest was, as is often the case, difficult. The high ISO worked well with the full-frame sensor, and the 1/160s was possible freehand due to the image stabilization in the lens. I had good experiences with the Sigma zoom down to 1/60s.
If you want to see more images of Robins please look into my corresponding album

Back in the fall of 1995, I was called at Argentine yard in Kansas City for a work train on the Emporia Subdivision. Our job was to drill into the sub-roadbed and pump a lime-slurry into the soil to help stabilize the roadbed.
