Thank you one and all for the booming blast of birthday wishes. The flood of kind words, funny cards, silly songs, and memorable quotes made my 38th birthday just as memorable as my 18th.
Special thanks to my amazing wife for our spur-of-the-moment activities that included a delicious breakfast at the Toasted Mango, breathtaking photos at Sarasota Jungle Garden, an historic hike through Desoto National Memorial, and a romantic ride through Anna Maria Island.

I generally make it a rule to myself to stay away from showing my camera in reflective shots like this one. But this was a wonderful capture that I couldn't crop out my camera or do some advanced Photoshop editing to remove it.
As a child I struggled very hard to be a winner. I was the type child that would cry at the end of contests for losing, and hate all the winners. Kinda rolled over into my teens... That's all changed now. I've grown to realize I am a winner every waking day of my Terranian Human life! I'm a winner for loving the winners; I'm a winner loving all the haters; and I'm a winner for loving all the losers.
I am happy with the finished image!

Old Goa contains churches affiliated to various congregations, including the Se Cathedral (the seat of the Archbishop of Goa), the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Church of S. Caetano, and notably, the Basilica of Bom Jesus which contains the relics of Saint Francis Xavier, which is celebrated every year on 3 December.

Most of the decoration inside the church were made of wood in the 17th century. This one of St. Francis of Assisi with the wolf caught my attention. It reminded me of the story of St. Francis who tamed a big bad wolf that my mother used to tell me when I was a kid. If you don't know this story, read it , it's cute!

The town of Assisi, in the Umbria region of Italy, is little changed since St. Francis founded his monastic order here in the 1200s in his small church, 'the angels.' One of his first converts, Clare, a local girl baptised as a child in the same church as Francis ('Frenchie' in Italian) founded the Poor Clare society of nuns. Franciscan monks from Spain (via Mexico) founded missions named Los Angeles (named for his church), Santa Clara (St. Clare), and San Francisco (St. Francis). This is his tomb, in one of the most beautiful churches (after St. Peter's in Rome) I've ever experienced.

Dressed as St. Francis of Assisi. This is what happens when you ask your friends if they could be photographed as someone or in a costume, who/what would it be. Blake has always loved St. Francis because of his love for the animals. Somehow I was able to find a Monk's robe while staying with him. This is what happened when we woke up at 5 AM one morning-some strange photos. We were cracking up. Some locals acted like they wanted to shoot us- I guess it was Sunday morning and they were probably on their way to church. Many more to come.
