At Morton lochs this afternoon.

Blue tit in late afternoon sunshine

One of several hedgehogs living in our garden.

1 of 5 fox cubs spotted by my wife on some land at the bottom of our garden...

They were at Morton lochs near Tayport in Fife.

So good at camouflage it even fooled this fly!

 

Growing fast and trying to keep cool in a heatwave.

Just love the tones...... Been to reedbeds at all different times of the year, late spring though and you get these gorgeous colours which change with the light... Just add a bird & I'm ecstatic!

Yellow Dung Fly/Forget-me-not

 

A young badger I filmed back in May tucking in to raisins, the soundtrack is provided by a young woodpecker looking out of its hole above me.

Red Kite over the Gwrhyd mountain in the Amman valley in West Wales.

This was an unexpected treat. My usual sighting of these is a flash flypast inside the woods, so to catch a glimpse of a pair, seemingly in courtship mode as they circled just above the trees... Bit of a grabbit shot, but a special one for me nonetheless.

I always advise people not to trust the fungi one finds in Epping Forest - here is a good illustration why. These flies visit a variety of unsavoury places before alighting on edible oyster mushrooms.
