Lesser spotted BBC cameraman on Skomer, filming gulls. Face obscured for privacy.

The humble garden bee has taken residence in my bird box and small bee colony has grown and thriving.

This is a watercolour painting inspired by the woodpecker nest on the live springwatch webcams!

   

Made a bird hide out of a step ladder and a duvet cover but Mummy wasn't fooled...so I made a hasty retreat before they all went hungry!

At Morton lochs yesterday.

and no hassles - so they stayed a while, still the bestest free show around...

Orca tail slap, whilst hunting seals on aberdeenshire coast

Some of the Sand Martins at Rodley were briefly alighting on the road surface. I am not sure whether they were looking for insect road-kill or collecting nesting material to re-line their burrows. However in this shot the bird looks like it is out for a rather ungainly Sunday afternoon stroll.
