Series of two from last night's Springwatch. I nearly fell off the sofa last night when this clip came on. I thought, I recognise those cliffs! Springwatch had said they may use some of my videos but did not tell me what, where or when, it could have been on Facebook, YouTube or the programme. Only the opening sequence of the cliffs is mine (Splash Point at Seaford).

I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when Springwatch uses one of my pics :-)

(Edit: still available as below but now also on iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08fgr1j - the timings are different as they've edited out a few minutes of filler before the the live stream starts. Beaver at 05:55, Graham's water vole macro (!) at 08:25.)

To see the segment, go to www.facebook.com/BBCSpringwatch/videos/677683076140900/ and watch from 11 mins 40 secs. Then go to 14 mins 20 secs for one of Graham's! (Or just watch all of it of course.)

Silverlinings are getting to watch my localpatch waking up.....

There were actually four chicks, one is underneath the wings at the back. Taken in Darsham, Suffolk.

Another attempt to build here which we are fighting again to save the few last remaining dark spaces and quiet green habitat for our little friends and all flora and fauna under so much threat now. Please see our website River Crane Sanctuary for more information and if you can help us do get in contact.

Thank you

This wall was painted during Springwatch 2024 at Arne RSPB reserve in Dorset.

The wall is situated near the cafe & shop. Whilst I was there I had to wait for a couple to move their bikes & eventually I asked if they were leaving soon as I wanted to take photos. She said to her partner words to the effect, "perhaps it was a stupid place to lean her bike" uh!!!. The handles were resting on the Dartford Warblers face, the wall will soon be spoilt if people don't think. There was a very ordinary wall a mere 3 yards away.

I will now get off my soapbox😊😊😊

Awful light but... well it's a Nuthatch!

Every morning he serenades our neighbourhood. This morning I got to see the singer. This year, there seem to be three or four of these in full voice. For many years I couldn't recognise the song, but often heard them in the evenings in the woods in the summer. I called them the 'nice to meet you' bird, after one of the phrases in his song had a similar cadence.
