Built in the mid-20th Century, this neotraditional Italianate-style house is an inaccurate reconstruction of the Elizabeth and Ninian Edwards House, which once stood on 2nd Street, and was where Abraham Lincoln married his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, in 1842. The building features a red brick exterior, a low-pitch hipped roof, a cornice with paired brackets, eight-over-eight windows with shutters, porches with corinthian columns, open pier foundations, decorative paneling, and decorative balustrades, and Colonial Revival-style doorways with fanlight transoms, which is perhaps the most incongruous element with the long-demolished house it was meant to resemble, a result of mid-20th Century misconceptions about historic architecture, colored by the infatuation of the public and historians with architecture of the colonial period and early republic. The house is noncontributing structure in the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

In 1952, this was a very chic bathroom.
