Built circa 1840, this Italianate-style house was rented in 1860 by railroad fireman William Beedle, and was restored to its circa 1860 appearance in 1984. The house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a red brick base, a low-pitch hipped wooden shingle roof with a cornice featuring paired brackets and dentils at the eaves, one-over-one double-hung windows with decorative trim surrounds, and a front porch with decorative rectilinear columns, an open pier foundation, and decorative brackets. The house is part of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Back of Elmvar. This is a very nice old apartment building in Springfield Missouri called Elmvar. The name is a clever combination of Elm and Boulevard, which is what National Avenue used to be called.

If the letter spacing looks a little off, it's because the FRYE part may have been a later addition. Frye Printing didn't merge with Williamson Press until 1968, and this building and its signage appear to date from a bit earlier than that.

Unter dem Titel Springfield Story wurde die Serie in Deutschland ab dem 26. Mai 1986 von dem Privatsender RTLplus (später RTL) zunächst im Nachmittagsprogramm gegen 17:00 Uhr gesendet. RTLplus begann die Ausstrahlung mit Folge 8258 der Originalserie aus dem Jahre 1979, sodass die Folgen der deutschen Ausstrahlung etwa acht Jahre hinter denen der US-Ausstrahlung zurücklagen. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde der Sendeplatz immer weiter nach vorne verschoben, sodass die Serie 1999 bereits im Vormittagsprogramm um 9:15 Uhr zu sehen war.
The Springfield Barn is one of the largest barns in the state of Maryland. This eight bay frame barn is 56 feet wide and nearly 168 feet long with a raised-seam roof. The first section, built over 200 years ago and set on stone foundations, is a four-bay bank barn with two open brick granaries. One of these has simple open brickwork ventilation holes. The other four bays were built somewhat later and in the 1880’s, Victorian trim and nine ventilators were added along the ridge of the roof. Within the barn, the original cedar shakes are still visible.
Built in 1928, this Classical Revival-style building is known as the Edwards Building. The building features a red brick exterior, stone trim, a parapet with multiple gables, one-over-one windows with decorative trim surrounds, large bays on the ground floor, and a central entrance door on the 5th Street facade with a decorative stone surround. The building today houses commercial office lease space.
