The community began to develop in the 1840s as San Mateo County's first real town. It is a thriving fishing industry in addition to its continued importance to coastal agriculture.

Shot taken this afternoon through the canopy of a Horse Chestnut Tree in the sun the fleshness of the new leaves was just stunning.
Taking a moment to enjoy the calm weather and the quiet rhythm of the coast. Seated by the fjord, surrounded by rock, water and open sky, this image captures the simple pleasure of being present—pausing to take in the light, the air and the landscape before the day moves on.

Hoewel het niet zo lijkt op de foto, was het een benauwde lentedag en moesten we door de naderende onweersbuien de strandwandeling alweer snel afbreken. Uiteindelijk bleef het droog in Egmond.

Although it doesn't look like it on the picture, it was a muggy spring day and we had to quickly break off the walk on the beach due to the approaching thunderstorms. But in the end it stayed dry in Egmond.
