Hans am Ende war ein deutscher Maler des Impressionismus und Mitbegründer der Künstlerkolonie Worpswede. „Hans am Ende malt Musik“, beschrieb Rilke die Malerei seines Freundes. „Die Farben seiner Landschaften setzen ein, als hätten sie auf den Wink eines unsichtbaren Taktstockes gewartet. ...Ein ganzes Orchester sammelt sich im Raume des Rahmens.“

It's that time of the year again. The hills are turning their golden tones and all of the winter growth is quickly fading away. I found these California poppies along the road close to my home a few weeks back. They have since been mowed down as they were growing in an area of fire danger.
This was at a different part of the campus, close to the steps where I go to sit down and have my lunch. These were pretty roses; they reminded me of the roses my mother grew in her garden when I was a child.
From the archives : Costa Deliziosa was a regular visitor to Northern Europe in cruise season 2011 and 2012. Here departure from the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam PTA on a sunny springday. The statue in front of the ship is "zeeman op de uitkijk"( sailor on watch). A memorial for the lost sailors of the Stoomboot Maatschappij Nederland (SMN) during WWII.
