I decided to do a proper, thorough Spring clean this year and went through the house listing all the jobs that need doing to make the house pristine. Today I'm making a plinth to tidy up the bottom edge of a kitchen unit that has deteriorated.......what fun !

Ten days ago, I posted a picture of some starving daffodils I found under a heavy pile of leaves. Here is what they look like today. Much to my amazement, there is even a bud in there!!
We tried to go here for lunch but it was closed for spring cleaning. With so much snow covering the pool and tennis courts, winter cleaning would have been more like it!
R prepares to wash off his bedroom window, sill, and radiator. I've talked about the black Brooklyn dust that comes in before -- hot water, soap, and a rag seems really primitive, but it does the job. and yes, our apartment's sole phone jack is for some reason installed on the windowsill. this makes little sense to me, as our building was finished during WW2, at which point most American homes had telephones. so it shouldn't be a retrofitting...
I gave my clowns a bit of spring cleaning today, and found a spot for a few pictures I'd acquired but not put on display...
