January into February is a very busy time for us because we have to spring clean our three self catering holiday apartments ready for the coming season. I hate spring cleaning and it tends to make the beginning of the year rather prickly in our household. Our first guests arrive on March 1st this year, which is earlier than usual, so we are cracking on with the jobs. Everywhere you look there is spring cleaning equipment and this is hubby's pile of paint tubs waiting to be moved to the next job. Not an exciting image, I know, but relevant to me at the moment.
(by the way, did I mention that I HATE cleaning and that spring cleaning is the worst?)
For TRP - Spring cleaning
Since today was Foo's pick I had to play! I amnot much a fan of cleaning in general, but the in depth stuff really annoys me. I have to seriously be in the mood. This is the hall closet. As you can see it is a disorganized mess. It does not start that way. I organize it, but is just never stays!
I am not submitting this to the group pool. I think the admins may take offense to my feelings on the matter.

Inspired by a few of my contacts I decided it was time for spring cleaning of my groups. All groups that I just used as dumping groups went out the window, as well as all those groups where I never participated. Left are a handful of small groups that I think I can get something out of, and a couple that have sentimental value for some reason or another.
The hope is also that I can be more active in the few groups I have left. At least I left the groups that were simply draining too much of my time without giving anything back.

Action shot of Stuart doing some Spring cleaning. It's so nice to have a little more time to do some cleaning after having been studying 24-7 the flat was gettting a bit dirty.
For years I've been hanging on to all of the little man's artwork and cramming it into the buffet drawers in the dining room. It was full to bursting. Today I finally started sorting the mess out. Taking the stuff I really want to save and putting them in a big rubbermaid bin, and pitching out the inferior pieces.
What grows comforted by the clay pot left out all winter? Nature's caviar, bonsai grapes, faerie pearls?
Actually they are garden snail's eggs.

missahomespun's son brought me a whole truckload of wood chips. I spent the morning spring cleaning the flower garden. I am only about 1/5 of the way finished, but it felt so good to outside in the sunshine playing in the dirt. The parts that I finished look so nice and clean and weed free. This is one type of spring cleaning that I don't mind doing. THANK YOU KEVIN!!!!
I'm participating in Apartment Therapy's Spring Cure 2010...so in 8 weeks, perhaps some of this clutter will be gone : ).
Blake (or Agador Spartacus) adds a bit of style to our big cleaning event today as we try to get that spare room into shape. He impersonates Agador perfectly, causing Kenna and I fits!
