Watching Chris Packham on Springwatch last night getting all excited about seeing a Nightjar made me realise our lucky we were to see, not one but three Nightjars in Gambia just before covid hit. I felt that I just had to post a couple more of the many shots that I took of them.

For my friends that are not in the UK, Springwatch is a BBC nature TV program that is shown for three weeks every year. They also have Autumnwatch and Winterwatch.

At Fowlsheugh this afternoon.

Taken on sand dunes in Devon.

 

Spent last week in Devon and managed to find 8 Adders on some local sand dunes.

 

Flickr seems to be degrading the quality for some reason. It appears a lot clearer on my computer.

Our paths crossed for 10 seconds at the most

From the archives... one of last year's youngsters. They seemed to have had a successful year this year as well - I again heard squeaky juvenile calls in the summer and currently, so long as it is dry, we are hearing adults calling most evenings.

Unsure what gender this Firecrest is! But it looks like it’s comfortable on the lovely soft perch!
