I have been asked to send this photo to the UK Camera magazine "What Digital Camera" for inclusion in the review for the 350D camera. I took this when testing out the camera that I bought for a friend who is wanting to get into the hobby of photography. After adding it to Flickr a while back I received a request to use this photo as an example of what the Canon 350D is capable of. I am not sure which issue it will be in, but when I find out I will let you know. We are spending our first night on our trip in a lovely seaside town called Yamba and I discovered that the motel we are staying in has free wireless internet. I haven't any new photos to show you (it is Peter's laptop - none of my photos are on here), so I decided to add this one again.
listen: ed sheeran - spring
Where is my mind? I've lost the nerve
This year flew by without a word
I had a plan to cross the world
But haven't left this island
The stores closed down then opened up
I said I'd do a sober month
I failed, but tried, and wrote this drunk
In overwhelming silence
And I'll see my friends when all this ends
But now until then
I'm holdin' out for spring
We can't let winter win
That's why I'm holdin' out for spring
Oh, what a state we're in
I'll keep holdin' out for spring.........

At the arboretum, sitting in our fave shaded area, we delighted in the sights and sounds of nature all around us. There were ducks and Canada Geese coming and going, swimming back and forth. There were turtles sunning on logs and swimming at the water's edge. Dragonflies zipped back and forth, and the air was alive with the sounds of songbirds.
There was just so much to see and hear I decided to film just a few minutes to share our change of scenery. If you look closely, you can see the turtle heads popping up at the water's edge.
Alas, not the best video as the camera wouldn't always focus, the supersensitive microphone picked up people talking which we did not hear, and "clicked" when the wind blew or when I touched the camera. This "unwanted noise" is why I usually add music to my videos, but I decided the sounds of nature outweighed the "other sounds" this time.
😊 For something a little different, here's a rather uplifting song/video I recently discovered. Hope you enjoy! 😊

Whoops, I almost forgot to add a photo!! It is bedtime now so I will have to catch you all tomorrow. Even though it is the 9th here in Australia (12.30 am), this is my photo for the 8th May.
Spring brings new life to everything but not nearly as evident as in the early spring blooming trees like this one. Taken in my backyard with a cloudless blue sky above...nearly perfect nature at its absolute best!!

More spring flowers that my wife has planted in the half whiskey barrels that we have on the patio behind the house. Again, I'm not much of a flower expert so I don't know what these are but she did a great job selecting and transplanting them to where they are now.

Another cooler but sunny day here in Sydney today, so I wandered around to my neighbour's garden to see if there was any action. There were so many bees (and even a Skipper butterfly) hanging around the Bird of Paradise bush.
