These beautiful Dahlia flowers are growing in my neighbour's garden. There are not too many bees around at the moment as our weather is cooling down fast now, but whilst I was wandering around with my new 50D camera, this one was kind enough to pose for me. These were taken with my Canon 180 mm 3.5 macro lens.

All my photographs are Copyrighted! You need my permission to use any photo.

I have decided to join Nina on her challenge to add a flower photo a day for 365 days.

This is a ground cover that grows wild in my garden. I love it but I do agree with Peter that it gets out of hand. He wants to pull it all out, but I won't let him LOL. We just try to keep it under control.

Using our sunroom as a different vantage point to do a little bird watching, these two Mourning Doves caught my eye, silhouetted together in the tree tops.

A blanket of Winter ice covering Lake Manitou begins to retreat as Spring nears.

Test the water...

It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine and through later folk traditions, it has also become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.

Forget about robins; when you start to see Vespas spring is just moments away!

I saw my first crocuses today! They are growing in a very protected little corner, but they were there.

I have been delving into the archives again tonight. This is a pretty bush that is in my neighbour's garden, but sadly all the flowers are gone now.

The daisy follows soft the sun,

And when his golden walk is done,

Sits shyly at his feet.

He, waking, finds the flower near.

"Wherefore, marauder, art thou here?"

"Because, sir, love is sweet!"

We are the flower, Thou the sun!

Forgive us, if as days decline,

We nearer steal to Thee, --

Enamoured of the parting west,

The peace, the flight, the amethyst,

Night's possibility!

The daisy follows soft the sun

Friday is full of hope. Catching the sunrise before work. The sun rose at exactly 9:00 today, 20 minutes earlier than on Epiphany two weeks ago. TGIF!

Sharing a few more photo from my daytrip earlier this week....

So things were getting pretty squirrely the other day as I watched these critters put the 'wild' in wildlife.

It was hard to tell if these three were company - or if it was a crowd...

Okay, I'm done now. ;)

One of the sure signs that Spring has arrived...Dogwood trees are in full bloom. This one happens to be a Pink Dogwood and the colors are truly amazing...beauty of God's creation!

This one is for Ottavia, taken in her garden recently. Not much flickr time these days, but I will try to catch up by Friday. Thanks for your visitL)

I have been asked to send this photo to the UK Camera magazine "What Digital Camera" for inclusion in the review for the 350D camera. I took this when testing out the camera that I bought for a friend who is wanting to get into the hobby of photography. After adding it to Flickr a while back I received a request to use this photo as an example of what the Canon 350D is capable of. I am not sure which issue it will be in, but when I find out I will let you know. We are spending our first night on our trip in a lovely seaside town called Yamba and I discovered that the motel we are staying in has free wireless internet. I haven't any new photos to show you (it is Peter's laptop - none of my photos are on here), so I decided to add this one again.

listen: ed sheeran - spring

Where is my mind? I've lost the nerve

This year flew by without a word

I had a plan to cross the world

But haven't left this island

The stores closed down then opened up

I said I'd do a sober month

I failed, but tried, and wrote this drunk

In overwhelming silence

And I'll see my friends when all this ends

But now until then

I'm holdin' out for spring

We can't let winter win

That's why I'm holdin' out for spring

Oh, what a state we're in

I'll keep holdin' out for spring.........
