Warrior Country holds its annual Spring Festival on Camp Red Cloud's Village Green parade field in Uijeongbu April 3. The event, which featured live music - instrumental and vocals - by the 2nd Infantry Division Band, drew hundreds of Soldiers, Airmen, civilians and family members, including youngsters who enjoyed Easter egg hunts, a bouncy house, face painting and other entertainment. Hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst and other food was served free. The Festival was hosted by the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I Chaplain Office, in partnership with the USO, Red Cross, Area I family readiness groups, and the 2nd Infantry Division's Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion. Despite cloudy skies early in the day and heavy thunderstorms the night before, the weather had cleared in time for the Festival's scheduled 3 p.m. start, and it went forward under sunny skies. — U.S. Army photos by Staff Sgt. John lighting a cigarette. He doesn't actually smoke (don't worry, Mom), but Lim brought them because they are great for lighting fireworks.

I never actually lit one (I enjoy watching just fine and I'm a wussy) but I got handed the cigarette a couple of times. Might've been my first time actually handling a lit one. Awkward. Didn't know what to do with it.

John still had the nasty tobacco smell later though. Poor thing. Didn't kiss him though. Ick.

Taken at NAF Atsugi, on 30 Apr 2016 (JST).

After the explosions were over, we stuck around and played for a little bit. The 3 kids, Peter, Lili and Mimi jumped on a piece of ice, trying to break off the edge. When the whole thing cracked and broke off, there were squeels and cries. It was one of the highlights of my day there.
