This year's theme for Springfest was Safari Galore. The festivities were held outside Hatheway Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2. L&C students, faculty and staff all participated in the event. There were different types of entertainment, food, carnival games, inflatables and prizes. The Occupational Therapy program's table took first and The Bridge's table took second at Springfest.
The theme for The Bridge table was an endangered species of primate called the Proboscis Monkey. Event attendees would select cards from each stage of the monkey's life to learn some fun facts and to see if their monkey lived onto the next stage of the life cycle. If an attendee's monkey died from deforestation, lack of food, or a variety of other real threats they received a custom made Proboscis Monkey sticker.
The Bridge also adopted their own Proboscis monkey by donating money to the World Wildlife Fund. You can adopt your own animal at gifts.worldwildlife.org/…/gi…/Species-Adoptions.aspx. Photo by Alex St. Peters
