Hellborus 'HGC Love Bug' Still going strong! Back to cooler weather with freezing temps at night so....not quite spring yet!
Helleborus 'HGC Jacob'. This was a gift from a friend and usually blooms in December- which it did. But now is blooming again! The snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow has been reduced from 8" to 4"....so who knows? The snow blower and generator are ready to go, just in case!
A view of a part of the main fountain garden at Longwood. We were there for the grand reopening on May 28 and it is spectacular!
We had tickets for the night time fountains and fireworks that was simply one of the best shows ever!

Here's a short video with wide views of the fountains.

And another video-you can see the night time fountains with fireworks overhead!
Okay, we had several night with freezing temps and today it's 70F!! This is our early blooming cherry tree. Not sure of the variety since it was here when we moved in. This one is white and the other 3 are pink.
I guess spring is here!
This pool was originally the swimming pool for the house but they later changed it once the house became a museum. You can see a bit of the house peeking out on the hill above.

We spent a wonderful weekend in Wilmington, DE visiting Winterthur and then Longwood Gardens for a night time fountains & fireworks show. It was a delightful weekend even though we had a few showers now and then.
We enjoyed a tour of part of the house (it has 170 rooms!) and grounds and an exhibit about forgeries of antiques and art that was very interesting.
The grounds are magnificent and there are so many enormous, old trees. Many of the trees were well over 100 feet high and hundreds of years old. The land has been placed in a conservancy so it cannot be developed in the future.

The Bluebirds are building a nest in one of our boxes. Soon there will be eggs and then baby bluebirds! Hooray for more Bluebirds!
At the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh NC. Such a lovely color combo. There was rain that morning.

On the short drive to the reservoir, and then on a half-mile walk around the shore, I saw not only this flock of geese, but a blue heron, a yellow warbler, a deer, star flowers, Canada Mayflowers, Trillium, Ladyslippers, and several types of berry blossoms. This is a blessed corner of the world!
Our 3 pink double flowering Cherry trees are now in bloom and they are lovely! This one is on the side yard. We are having wonderful spring weather!!!
There's a little bench under the tree...have a seat!
20 year old blend of Canadian Whiskey distilled especially for BC Liquor Stores.
Very decent drink for the price. Unfortunately I missed out on this limited batch.
This was a gift from friend that has finally come into its own this year. It's now quite large and covered with buds!
I started out with it in a pot up on the deck but soon it was clear it needed to be in the ground! Seems to like the spot I picked and will be glorious this year.
Howe Sound Brewery Megadestroyer Imperial licorice Stout.
Courtesy of the "Dr & Nurse".
Has the sweetness and heaviness of stout, but unfortunately the black licorice is fairly prominent. I'm not a fan of black licorice.
I've decided to start posting on flickr again, though I'm going to turn off commenting and post lots and lots of photos - I don't have the time to spend here like I used to, so if you want to look just look, that's fine - I mostly post on Facebook now, the only problem with that is that the quality of photos is ruined - so if I want to share a link with how the original photo looked I now can through flickr.
I hope you are all keeping well, it's been a while.
