After work today I got a message from Nard, "Jo has spring fever; let's go for dinner."
Alright. My stomach isn't up for much so let's go get poutine. Logical right? Probably a bad choice, I'm not feeling great now but whatever I need to start eating meals again. Go big, or go home right?
Anyway, after dinner I pestered Jo to pose for me. Other than the rain starting which dampened her spirit, she was a good sport and posed showing off her adorable socks and hemline.
Jo's "first day" of spring fashion!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

I love Vegas, but there are three things I miss most about Cincinnati, old friends, Madtree IPA, and the spring blooms at Cincinnati Zoo (and Cincinnati Zoo in general). In case anyone is interested, my latest blog is the weekly feature on Innovation Excellence,

Happy meteorological spring! I'm sick of winter so I dug up these lovelies for your and my enjoyment this first day of spring!
While winter was fairly dry and disappointing, Spring did bring a heavy and much needed blanket of snow to the area ...

I met them when I was looking for the"Colorful" things in the Spring.
They are really attractive even though they are not colorful.
It's Another Spring !!
I use my freind's lens "Nikkor 70-300mm". It is awesome !!
So, now, I'm waiting Spring Santa. Do you know where he is ?
This image was taken in Town of New Tecumseth, Ontario. More details about the image and how it was made can be found in my blog photocrossroads.com/2013/06/27/image-deconstructed-spring...
February as I write this - what lovely light will be with us in just a few weeks!
Perhaps because of its strongly reflexed petals, this seemed by far the daintiest out of a mixed bag of dwarf daffodils...
I believe one of the common names for this Spirea is Bridal Wreath and I think that's a fitting name as it looks as pretty as a bride in springtime. The pink bokeh comes from a pink honeysuckle in the foreground and a pink camellia behind with a splash of blue sky for good measure. I just love the garden at this time of year :)
Thanks for all the lovely comments and favs on yesterday's little kitty.
a sunny but cold April weekend along river Werre pleased with a beautiful sunset. Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany
Another annoying thorny branch by the side of the walking path.
When seen on this brilliant Spring day however it actually manages to look pretty.
New growth, sunshine and warmer days (around 20C today) combine to make us feel good.
Thinking about a holiday ... Holiday (a bit controversial, but seriously cool)
Here's the old skool version: Holiday (starts slow but totally rocks!)
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
One from my 2014 folders. The light is so different in Spring. Colours so much more vibrant and softer.
today I posted a few pictures to celebrate the profusion of daffodils popping up in my yard.
A few nights of hard frost a couple of weeks ago, put a real hurting on the early spring blooms. It's the first time I can remember that my forsythia bushes didn't bloom. They made a few flowers here and there, but for the most part, nada!.8-(
Now they're starting to leaf out...skipping spring all together.
The blooming trees are fairing no better. The early bloomers all turned brown, and the trees that have bloomed look dull.
The daffodils however, seem to thrive with the cooler temperatures .
They're a welcome pop of color in the landscape.
Sorry I've been M.I.A....too many things to do, not enough hours in my day!
Hope to catch up with everyone soon!
Have a great day Peeps!
"I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose
I would always greet it in a garden." (Ruth Stout)
The obligatory first-crocus-shot! ;-)
Have a fine spring Monday!
Haven't really had a decent Winter in The Netherlands this year. Hence the lack of snowy landscapes and stuff :p. But there's no looking back now, Spring is here!
The exhuberant spirit of spring was evident to me in these branches on a late March day when Mother Nature gives her wake-up call to the Earth. There is a special smell in the air and a new light of awakening - time for spring fever!! Happy Easter - Happy Spring to all :)
"And the Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its
wintry rest."
~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
Last one from the Memorial Day outing, this is Lynne's Falls. One of my favorite things about waterfall photography is visiting the smaller ones that most people haven't heard of, and getting shots from them that I'm really happy with. This isn't the most dramatic waterfall to see in person, but it sure did photograph well. Spring greens at peak here.
This and other images from that day can be seen on my website at: www.justinsmithphoto.com/galleries/recent
I just love to see the daffodils bloom, first sign of spring to me along with all the birds singing.

Subtle signs of Spring approaching! We finally had a warm day today of +9 Celsius after a month of -37 Celsius!!! Lots of snow melted, lots to go, but it was great to feel that Spring is just around the corner!

Since I can’t visit any parks this pandemic spring, I’ve been doing some macro photography in my back yard and along the streets in my neighborhood. I find I can get into the same therapeutic flow state looking for subjects as I can hiking along park trails. Much better than sitting at home, doomscrolling.
Some spring blossoms in the park on Saturday morning. The park is now closed again due to the rising numer of Covid cases. I so hoped that the place could remain open after I had already pretty much missed out on Spring there last year.
