The Old Basilica of Kehryan ... with its "Spring of Memory" or the "Headless Giant" , the sculpture was carved directly into the mountain, so that the water would appear to come out of the lips.

With the power to restore memory to those who have lost, many are the ones who seek it, forgetting that often our lost memories are not always the good ones ...

A freak snowstorm hit parts of Vancouver last night. I got off work this morning and, eager to try out my new camera, headed up to Burnaby Mountain Park in search of photo ops.

A SPRING MORNING

I awake light-hearted this morning of spring,

Everywhere round me the singing of birds --

But now I remember the night, the storm,

And I wonder how many blossoms were broken.

I had a great time taking these shots at Spring Tide last year! This is on Whitby's sea wall with the Abbey just visible, top right!

At this time in may 2021, cherry blossom was nearly over, we can recognize it well at the lot of green in the picture. Anyhow I could find some single late blooming trees. This one served well with its branch as a typical vernal foreground. Behind we can see the village of Schlaifhausen with Hetzles, a charateristic hill behind.

got my film back. kind of disappointed, but there were a few that i like. i had the iso wrong though so a bunch are a bit too overexposed. i was just using some expired film that my parents gave me - basic kodak and even wal-mart film (whatever that is). still, hate to waste any film!

i'm going to order some new 35 mm film, kodak portra and fuji superia. any other suggestions?

Officially, it's SMMGNN014. This spring was the cause of death for a nocturnal explorer in 1988. He fell into the spring when caught by snowfall in the dark. He made it back to his friends in camp, but died of his burns overnight.

Today was a beautiful spring day so we had a mooch round the harbour with the camera's.....
