my garden will be pretty in a couple days :)

Just couldn't resist taking a shot of these trees with their beautifully fresh spring foliage back lit by the sun. Unfortunately the bluebells were not out in these woods as the hillside faces north. This was taken on a lovely walk this week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I got this shot close to home, while I lived in Vallentuna for a week this Spring. Already looks like summer, doesn't it? People hadn't begun launching their boats quite yet.

On Sunday I made the off trail hike deep into one of the Columbia River Gorge's most amazing spots, this time trudging up the creek the whole way. The recent run of warm days has left the Gorge exploding in green. Such an awesome time to be out there! I also lucked out with gentle winds which helped freeze the foliage, something I contended with last year at this spot.

With the exception of one cold week in January, I think that winter has skipped us this year. On to springtime:)

I've resisted taking dandelions since they are so prevalent everywhere. As with all resolutions, I broke it. These were such "fat" and large dandelions, that I decided to take a few shots :)

I went to Green Spring Gardens last month hoping to see hummingbirds. I only saw a couple, but I had no problems finding the Purple Martins, several of them were hanging out together.

The hummingbirds are here:

Blue Star Spring is located in Upper Geyser Basin, the same geyser basin that is home to the much-loved Old Faithful Geyser. Upper Geyser Basin has the highest concentration of geothermal features within Yellowstone National Park.

The temperature of the spring is 192°F (88 C). The water is super hot and we can see the steam as well. Dimensions are 9x10 feet, depth is 6 feet. It received its name from the star-like sinter formation around the edge of the pool. Extensive ledges have formed three to four feet over the crater, creating an illusion of a small spring. The ornate scalloped border of the ledge also extends along the overflow channel.
