A sled passes by a CN crew (R921) plowing Steelton Hill in Duluth. The former C&NW Jordan has been busy the past week after the Duluth area received over 2 feet of snow in a pair of storms.

Under the cover of darkness, SPMW 4031 heads east through heavy snow at Soda Springs. On the night of March 12th, 2023, Union Pacific’s snow fighters found themselves in an all-out battle for the mountain.

A series of heavy winter storms dumped multiple feet of snow across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. With a rotary snowplow working the #2 track, SPMW 4031 was tasked with clearing the #1 tack between Shed 10 and Norden. The snow fighters would work long into the night before arriving at their eastern terminus at Truckee Snow Headquarters.

I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. Have a super day!

The morning light, the lily white, declare their maker's praise. This is my father's world, I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hand the wonders wrought. ~Amy Grant

I've taken 6,300 images of these Pileated Woodpeckers flying around in the woods (at 20 frames per second, it adds up quick). Think this is my favorite image.

This was a nice way to begin spring break.

The female Cardinal showed up at the feeders looking extra happy. Maybe it was because I'd just refilled all the feedersl

Her spunky little attitude makes me smile, so I'm hoping it'll do the same for you.
