In the early years of the 21st century artificial intelligence spread from silicon to wood. One of the first set of newly intelligent wooden beings was Karl and Karla Blockbody. They were the main influence that persuaded meat people to accept wooden people. Peace!

Pella (Iowa) is a beautiful little Midwest town with Dutch architecture, lovely homes with gardens and tulips everywhere. The annual tulip festival this year is May 1-2-3, but there are lots of early tulips starting to bloom right now.

We took a trip out to Reifel Bird Sanctuary this afternoon trying to enjoy the last bit of sunshine before the rains arrive later tonight.
It was all cleaning and preening with the residents out there as this Northern Shoveler is displaying after a lengthy bath.

There really is a place called Spread Eagle. I kept looking for people or things that were all stretched out, but didn't see any.
"Wing-spreading" is a technique Double-crested Cormorants use to dry their feathers after swimming, as they lack waterproof feathers.
