Spray roses are cheap and seem like a good value, but they're very simple and have little fragrance. This is a 50-frame focus stack.
We had lots of fun on the South Gare at Redcar in a January storm, even though we left before high tide. My wife wanted to be back in Sandsend [near Whitby] by three o'clock to capture the waves there. My New Years resolution was to inject more dynamism into my images - trying to capture movement. The title, I did a little clumsy dodging and burning to bring out the wave textures. . It's always a lovely surprise to feature in Explore - thank you all for your visits, kind comments and favourites, all are very much appreciated!
Hinsby Beach, Taroona, Tasmania. If you look closely you can see the water spray flying towards the camera. I actually didn't realise until I processed the photo!

I can't remember the last time I did a fun bokeh/circles of confusion shot.
Luckily, while reading in the master bedroom yesterday afternoon I happened to notice my atomizer spraying by itself, so I took a picture of it. ;-)
A 300-mm view of the Atlantic surf and accompanying spray as it heads towards Trebarwith Strand on the north coast of Cornwall. A fairly straightforward image to process, involving some adjustments in contrast, clarity and highlights. Thanks for viewing.
Mt. Rainier National Park. We arrived just a little late to catch the sun's rays lighting up the top of the falls in a golden flame.
Finally a local 3Q99 in daylight which saw 69005 and 69006 run from Doncaster Roberts Road to Rotherham Masborough and back late this afternoon.

It plunges 70 feet into Lake Superior and was a beautiful sight! The fog was starting to lift a bit by the time the boat arrived to this area.

Spray Falls was not on my radar so imagine my surprise upon stumbling on this. It starts as a horsetail all of about 10 feet wide and then the free fall down the cliff side spreads it out to up too 100 feet during it's 354 foot drop. On a 90 degree day this is a great place to be as evidenced by my fellow observers. Lot's of smiles all around. :-)
Taken at Northpoint in Gracetown. The surf was pumping and I got a lot of photos of people getting barrelled but the light was terrible. I just like this shot for the confusion it portrays.
Another shot from last summer, during a quick trip to Eastern Oregon. I learned a lot from that experience, and will give it another try later this summer.
I forgot what the sky looks like out in the desert. Sort of sad that most of the world doesn't see skies like this, due to light pollution.
Rule #1: focus on infinity before it gets dark!
