My first spoon that I am genuinely proud about. While I see where I can improve, I also felt my skill set brought me to this point comfortably (ie. not ruining it because I had to carve that one last detail, only to ruin the entire spoon)
This came from a blank of black walnut from Mount Wolfe Farm in the Caledon Hills - a part of a workshop, run by the Ontario Rural Skills Network (www.ontarioruralskillsnetwork.com/)
The course was led by a terrific carver by the name of Fuzz.(@fuzzandmaz). The spoon is heavily influenced by the spoons that Fuzz creates.
Black Walnut - Flaxseed Oil Finish
Welsh Love Spoons are carved from a single piece of wood and are best known worldwide but other countries also have this tradition. The earliest surviving example, displayed in the Welsh Folk museum in Cardiff, is dated around 1667, although the tradition probably dates back long before that.
My wife and I received this pair 41 years ago from relatives after we were married.

Taken a minute ago.
Nothing, just a fun shot... lol
It was a souvenir mug given by her.
Honestly, I don't like it because i don't like her !!!
Why I'm using it?
Well, I'm on diet and using it means losing my appetite.
I feel so bored and lazy right now.

spoon river...a real place apparently (and a real book). .Normal for cats.
I remember being a kid and there would be these "psychics" and magicians that would bend spoons with their minds. I was so fascinated by this, I must have given myself a headache many times trying to bend a spoon! Well, after a few nosebleeds and decades later...

Home, sweet home --- my living room reflected in an Oneida soup spoon lying on the table, with a vase full of alstroemeria in good evidence. The red and gold paper is Indian and I think hand-printed.
meh. I like the idea but I wish I'd done it better.
It was a race against the clock, and the clock kinda won...
Yup, it's a spoon... any one else going stir crazy in this weather???!

Spoon-winged lacewings - Chasmoptera superba
Recently we visited Lake Deborah north of Bullfinch and found some exquisite Spoon-winged lacewings. We were able to observe them for a few hours.
Their hind wings pump up and down as they fly.
They can fly fast or slow in a fluttering fashion.
The flight path is as a wave action.
They are sometimes seen resting on the branches of the shrubs or perched on dried sticks on the ground.
The females lay eggs in the sand. Movement from the hind wings appears to help the abdomen penetrate the sand.

Spoon resting on an iphone screen, reflecting the image displayed on the screen. As a further nod to the "Tableware" theme, the image is a semi-abstract photo of a stack of blue and white plates. Width of the spoon is 34mm. HMM!
bloody spoon. This was taken with only one speedlight canon 430x II triggered remotely with cowboy studios radio trigger. inside of octo softbox (47 inch) with 1 layer of diffusion, and positioned on top of the subject slightly angled towards the camera. the flash was at 1/4 of the power. The soft box is nearly 10 inches from the subject, you can see the reflection of the softbox in the juice's bubbles
