i dropped my d40 on its lens yesterday, and it would appear the tiffen uv filter took the brunt of the impact, although there's definitely something rattling around inside my nikkor 18-55 lens. i think it's time for another lens: www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/35mm-f18.htm

Someone I look up to @ Woodshop gave me this "Splinter Out". I can't wait to use it!
