For this week's Macro Monday theme 'Spiky' Not sure what this plant is but I photographed it this morning in the Dry Garden at our local RHS Gardens - Hyde Hall.

Many thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images :)))

how can their soft little bodies not mind those spiky bits.....

I like the way the eryngium blooms at first on half the orb

Thank you for visiting my photostream. Have a good day!

Nearing the end of our Tasmanian road trip now — I’m sure there are a few sighs of relief out there 😉.

This is Spiky Beach, named after its neighbour, the convict-built Spiky Bridge from 1843 (note to self - must share a photo of that one day!).

But today’s about the beach, not the bridge. Here’s how Google describes it — sounds pretty tempting, don’t you think?

Geology & Flora: Blond sand, dark dolerite rock outcrops, bordered by she-oaks and eucalypts

Highlights: Rock pools teeming with marine life, crystal-clear water, and scenic solitude

Atmosphere: Serene, uncrowded, unspoiled, and perfect for quiet reflection

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend — thanks as always for your comments, they’re much appreciated!

November 23th 2020

Hello amazing Flickr People !!

Today is Friday !!! And it is also a blue day at Color my World daily Group and at the awesome Looking Close on Friday Group the theme is spiky.

So I hope this picture is spiky enough for you ! I have this tiny cactus growing inside a champagne cork (yes it is true !!). One of my colleagues, which i nicknamed Doctor Cactus, gave it to me, trying to stimulate my non existant green thumb… The poor little cactus is surviving somehow and against all odds… I had it for at least 9 years ! So, it is a success for me ! But, I guess i will have to transplant it from his champagne cork to a bigger pot…I hope it will survive…

I’m rather busy at work right now, so sorry for my absence !! I will be back shortly !! See you later my friends !

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Such great architecture there in Copenhagen !!

Deliberately moody edit (DxO Silver Efex 2 and Affinity Photo) to emphasize the somewhat threatening spiky-ness ;))

I am just having fun going through my archive on this rainy Sunday while doing a backup ... Happy (Sliders) Sunday, everyone !!
