This vintage is in Oklahoma City. Will Rogers Theater was built in 1945~1946 and opened on September 18, 1946. It was one of many single screen theaters that graced the United States in a post World War II country. Neighborhoods and cities alike boasted these theaters that were seen at the time as top of the line and modern luxuries.
Will Rogers Theater itself featured theater style seating on an incline, a concession area, original oak detailing, seating for 1000 patrons and incredibly detailed murals that spelled out the life and times of its namesake, the great Oklahoma cowboy, pilot and movie star Will Rogers. These murals were painted by legendary artist Craig Sheppard. The 18-foot mural featured in the lobby is filled with the history of Oklahoma along with the story of Will Rogers life and death.
Polaroidweek Day 5, Photo 2: Here’s another image from a recent shoot with Megan Luis (@shallowthenhalo on Instagram) it was done using a Polaroid 180 and nicely expired ID-UV film.
I'm finally getting around to finishing up this session, and found one that I'd discarded at first. After another look I thought it had something, so I'm glad I gave it an edit :).

5/5 Columbine is a common name for the genus Aquilegia both in English and French (spelled colombine), so I thought I'd find out why. Apparently, the flower of the columbine, specifically the top, has been interpreted as a group of birds (often doves) sitting, facing each other. In fact other common names, for example in a number of German language dialects, also refer to that image. Correspondingly, the name Columbine is thought to come from the Latin word 'columbīna' signifying a relationship with a pigeon or dove (Latin columba), or more specifically of the same colour as a dove.
Fittingly in scientific classification, there is an order of doves and pigeons (Columbiformes) which contains a Family (Columbidae) and Subfamily (Columbinae), which in turn contain the genus (Columbina). Columbina is a genus of nice species of small doves that can be found from the Southern United States through Central and most of Southern America.
Like the other pictures in this little series (see here flic.kr/s/aHBqjBskvZ), I took this one in a friend's garden. For information on the common columbine, see flic.kr/p/2pS4jd2 and flic.kr/p/2pSsA6x

Spello Umbria Italy. Hike to top of hill from IL Molino restaurant. 360' view up top. There is hotel up there too. Watch the warm glow from the sun setting.
It was lovely day and when sun spells were coming through the clouds made this old grass shining like fields of gold.
Thank goodness our brutally cold spell came to an end!! That was COLD, with temperatures down into the -30°Cs and windchill temperatures down into the -40°Cs! For now we are a few degrees above or below 0°C for our daily highs. Since 21 December 2022, days have been getting longer by 2 minutes, 7 seconds each day. Yay!
I had only left the house once since 15 December, and that was to go to one of the Primary Care Centres. My 'normal' chronic cough that I have had for years became worse and I was having extremely painful sharp pains around my right side every time I breathed in or coughed. The cough had caused inflammation in the muscles. The doctor I saw told me that the blood pressure medication I take is known for causing a chronic cough, so I need to talk to my own doctor about this. Though I can breathe a little easier, the cough seems determined to stay.
I was lucky to find the second Snowy Owl I have seen (so far) this winter season. Like the previous owl, this was a female, so I still haven't seen a male. This one, too, was seen SE of Calgary and the few photos I managed to get were taken from way down the road.
I only have a couple of photos to post from this drive, but it felt so good to be out of the city for s short while.
The day after this drive, I drove NE of the city. A rewarding drive, including stopping to take a few photos of familiar old barns.
