This is the speed from the Copthorne Hotel in Birmingham. For this I'm being charged £20 per day, which is better than $40 US. And that's through an ethernet connection, which was fired up after we found that the room had no wi-fi signal at all. Not good.

Comments Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original is ... WAS USED ITEM! Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing. AU NEW Netgear AC750 750Mbps Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Range Extender EX6100 Item: 122535184709 Was refurbished, soiled Made in Vietnam Still wont remember the NETGEAR EX6100 keeps going back to the Router. I got connected once on the iPad and Ookla speedtest great but it then goes back to the router. My other IPad does too. Went thru the whole process with Laptop Ethernet to splitter from the Extender, and it reverted to the router, or says the Router is there, unless it thinks it passes straight thru the Extender without seeing it! Tried WPS setup,, no netgear web member join offered Settings on the iPad says connected ... Ookla speedtest great, then iPad lost the Extender... This was useless ..... http: www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX6100/EX6100_UM_27Oc... Did not find the extender, had to set 2GEXT and 5GEXT up manually but the iPad would not hold onto it, but revert to my TPG2AF7 router! It would not present a Setup NETGEAR account, which was asked for on your above website...and my Flickr account login was asked for too, not secure and gave up as I was always logged on, on the laptop on the router.. see screen grabs https: www.flickr.com/gp/spelio/n7E453

4.7 Mbps downstream from Dallas! That'a nice fat pipe Time Warner got between Austin and Dallas. Other cities are in 2-3 Mbps range which is pretty good too.
Speedtest.net results after upgrading to 20mb broadband from Virgin Media. Upload speeds aren't great though :/
Second test that day of speed at my apartment near Cambridge, MA. Via Vonage Speedtest. I was connected over Ethernet to the router/hub supplied by Verizon. The connection runs by fiber to an ONT Optical Network Terminal box and thence via old Comcast co-ax sepatately to the router and to the television set top box. Another connection is called POTS and goes to an ancient junction box in the basement and then by original 1924 cotton-wrapped copper wiring to a splitter in the attic, where both a fax and a cordless landline reside.
When I'm uploading and downloading MP4 videos, our home broadband is unsuitable for gaming and streaming.
This is a screenshot of what is probably the best cool new user interface on the web I've seen in a long time. It's a neat Flash application that visually shows you your bandwidth speed.

This is a speed test of my home "business" connection from my Cox Business service. It comes with up to 5 IP addresses and no port blockages for $109/month. The offering, and the service, has not changed in three years.
Broadband speed at my parents' house with DSL. I need to convince my
dad to upgrade. (My speed at home with cable is eight times faster.)
